Jamie Price

Freelance Artist, Character designer and writer.

Hello. I'm Jamie Price, sometimes referred to as "Luna Lazuli" amongst the internet. I have a passion for creating cartoon-ish styled artworks and varied character designs. I am currently learning and improving my skills everyday in order to hopefully use my talent in the job field.

I start with sketches on traditional paper then finalize everything else digitally on the computer. I use MS Paint to create my lines and add colors. I have basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, but prefer to use GIMP for shading and effects.

Characters

Besides creating fan or original artworks, I find a liking to creating designs that aren't specifically based around anything, other than my own stories. My strengths in designing are fantasy, cartoon simplicity, and a mix of sci-fi. I am currently learning how to design Mecha, robots, and various unique animal species. Each of them even have their own profiles and a few small stories here and there. Ex: "Cecilia" the angel was once a temple healer in heaven, but due to an incident that got her framed for murder, she's been on the run in the ruthless, mortal forests below. Eventually starting her own family of misfits.

Fan favorites

I absolutely LOVE designing characters from various franchises. Showcased on the right are some of my personal favorite designs. Though these aren't necessarily "original", I enjoy straying from the norm and going out of my way to create something unusual, but keeping everything as accurate as possible to the original sources available. On occasion, I even write them personal biographies and stories, developing them further into their respective worlds.

About my progress

My inspiration to become an artist started when I was very young, and I have been drawing ever since. My main inspirations are Evan Stanley, Jennifer Hernandez, Steve Stamatiadis, Ian Flynn, and Rebecca Sugar. Their various works help me keep going throughout the day! Showcased on the right are various in-progress works, to help understand my process of creating art. They tend to start out as the simplest of sketches that turn into a finalized sketch. I'll decide later on if it's good enough or not to fully digitalize.
