Took a break from drawing Leshy by drawing Leshy. Make it make sense
The irony is that this 1hr 53min doodle might look better than what I've spent 25 hours on LMAOOO
Anyways, anyone who's following me for rain world and/or hollow knight who does not want to see cult of the lamb stuff might want to unfollow because I am about to become exceptionally obnoxious about this one guy specifically

Started with wanting to draw my current personal design for ghost/the knight (ft. rainbow swirlies.... pry the oil theory from my cold dead hands) and then got carried away and tried out a new method of rendering that's a bit more painterly (which is how I've once again ended up with a rendered generic t pose artwork LOL)
Main change is that I've done away with the 'wings under the cloak' thing, much prefer the cloak being the wings, especially since it's canon lol
Haven't drawn HK stuff in a while so this was fun

[Image ID: An artists interpretation of the beta Arceus sprite, facing right on a pale gradiented blue, pink, and white background. Its body, floating off the ground, is wholly white, but appearing to have dramatic shifts in colour action in response the the molten gold glowing ring with wispy spokes floating around its abdomen and the reflected blue light from above. It has fur billowing out into as,one like substance from its front legs and the back of its head, with a long tail composed of long, continuous strands of fur. Its eyes are glowing red rings. End ID]
Sorry this is a repost; I deleted the old post because I had fixed some things after uploading but already reblogged it on my art account, so i wanted to just... repost it from scratch. The modifications were pretty big so it was bothering me.
Edit: readmore doesn't work for some reason and I can't fix it, so that's cool

[Image ID: A digital artwork of a scaly purple dragon bust facing left in ¾ view against a light purple backdrop. They are grinning widely. They have light purple eyes and a short horse-style mane that runs down the back of their neck with dark purple forelock. Their segmented underbelly is a lighter purple than their body. They have a small nose-horn. They are backlit by a bright light. End ID]

[Image ID: A traditional drawing of one dragon bust and two dragon headshots drawn on paper with biro. The top-left dragon bust depicts a traditional scaly dragon in a right-facing sideview, head upright and roaring. It has frills on either side of its head and down the underside of its neck, tapering in size with proximity to the head. The dragon has circular pupils and a small frill jutting out of its chin. The top right dragon headshot is near front-view, neck curled in the shape of a question mark. It is covered in feathers with a large feathered mane and has a snout, nose, and whiskers resembling that of a cat closer than a reptilian snout. Its pupils are circular. The bottom dragon headshot depicts a dragon facing left in ¾ view with plate-like scales. It has large eyes with vertical slit pupils and large spiked eyebrow ridges. Its nostrils, chin and underside of its neck similarly have smaller spines running along them. It has a small black nose horn and two larger black horns at the back of its head with spined ridges. End image ID]

Time: I didn’t time this sorry, but I would say no longer than an hour… maybe an hour and a half, tops
Materials: Sketchpad and black biro only
I got carried away after finding a small sketchpad yesterday. Got very distracted from working on my dissertation auauhhsjsjjsk. I forgot how nice drawing on paper was though, it’s been so long that I’d convinced myself it was harder to draw on paper than it is digitally. Turns out the inverse is true.
[Image ID: Facing right, a halfbody image of Five Pebbles. He has long, thin bronze antennae ending in rectangles on each side of his head, facing back at a 45 degree angle to his head, with secondary, shorter antennae without end-pieces on a swivel protruding from the bottom of his antennae headpiece. He has four raised stripes on his forehead, two above each eye; the interior stripes are wider and longer. He is wearing a simple orange gradient robe with a hood. His eyes are half-lidded. End ID]
Yeah I don't have self control, I redrew five pebbles. Not much has changed since the last design, just the forehead stripes really. I planned to make them raised originally but changed my mind for whatever reason. I'm going to make that change for my fancharacters as well lol.
The last drawing was posed so honestly I kind of screwed up the design I had along the way, this is closer to what I originally had in mind (bar the forehead markings, which I've now raised)
There are some other minor changes to the body which I've settled on after deciding on my ancient design but those weren't really visible on the old drawing anyways so... yeah

Image ID: A speculative monochrome halfbody sketch of an Ancient facing right, holding up their left arm while the right arm depicts the upper arm only. The sketch generally outlines musculature as well as notable features, such as the thick tubelike hair. It is humanoid in appearance, however having only three fingers and a slightly longer snout with a mouth set lower than in typical humans. The nose and mouth are catlike with a cleft lip. End ID
Uuuuah Ancient doodle, I was messing around trying to get something that looks both unique and suitably un-human like because humanlike aliens are my number one gripe with sci fi (but with proportions similar enough that like, the design philosophy of their iterators actually makes sense) and uh. Yeah I couldn't think of anything that didn't look a) weird or b) that didn't diverge too much from the canon proportions.
Anyways I thought this doodle looked cool so. Posting it
And remedying the 'too human' thing by telling myself that ancients almost certainly modified the HECK out of themselves so most probably didn't even look like they belonged to the same species a lot of the time, unified only by cultural customs and garbs
