a modern d&d campaign

BLURB.

In an era where technological advancements coexist and blend with the arcane, four travelers are seemingly drawn to each other by fate and together, must try to find their place in an unforgiving world.

ABOUT.

Neon Arcanum is a modern D&D campaign that is played with 5th edition rules and a lot of homebrewing. I, the dm, first had the idea for this type of campaign in early 2018 and had slowly worked on it through the course of that year. The rest of the group slowly came together from my very close and best friends, Deja, Snooze, Mask, and Maxine. Carlos would eventually come to help me as this campaign would be my first time dm-ing ever.

Later on at the end of 2018, I was approached by Snooze's fiance, now wife, to DM a one-shot for her bachelorette party, and I thought it would be perfect to expedite this campaign for that. Soon eough, we played through our session 0 on January 12, 2019, and everyone fell in love with each other's characters and the aesthetic of this world. With that, we started playing properly when our schedules allowed it.

Eventually, we were inspired by other smaller d&d groups to start sharing our campaign publicly via this tumblr blog and our twitter (@NeonArcanum), and now here we are! I hope you come to love our campaign as much as we do!

FAQ.

Is this a podcast or a livestream? How do I learn more?

Nope! We currently do not have any interests in turning this campaign into a podcast or a livestream. We are a little different in that we put together summaries and compile art into a specially made Google document! You can read that here:

Summary Document - Arc 1
Mobile Accessible

Also, a few of us are a little more active on twitter, so there's quite a bit of art that gets posted there and not here. I highly recommend following our campaign twitter: (@NeonArcanum).

Whose art is whose?

Our current header and icon is drawn by Mask (@okandmask)! I've also tagged each drawing posted here with specific tags to label who drew what:

[#kat art] | [#deja art] | [#mask art] | [#snooze art] | [#max art]

What kind of homebrew are you using?

Mostly, I'm using bits and pieces of the official Modern UA and this homebrewed Modern Handbook that I found online! I did rework a lot of it to suit my preferences and needs, so not everything listed there will be the same as what I use. As the session goes on, I'll be posting some of my original homebrew here that I feel like sharing. That being said, all of my worldbuilding, cities, plotlines, maps are made by me, the dm.
