Backstory:

Elise’s life was pretty normal in the early stages. She was loved by her two mothers Megan & Emma, she had friends in school and she showed an interest in archery thanks to her father. Her father worked as a police officer and her mother was a stay-at-home kind of woman who sold hand-knitted sweaters from home. Her life was perfect… Until Megan revealed a horrid secret.

By day Megan was nothing more than a police officer, but by night she was a tough as nails vampire hunter, protecting Frosthold from the creatures of the night. When Emma found out about this, she was livid, an argument ensued. It was then, that Emma revealed that she had been sleeping with a co-worker of Megan’s behind her back. Divorce soon followed with Emma taking primary custody. She didn’t see or hear from Megan in years and Elise resented Emma for having to leave her old happy life behind, simply because Megan was a vampire hunter. 

It only got worse from there.

Emma soon remarried with her lover, Maxton Simmons and the two hardly paid attention to the young girl. She began staying out late, studying vampires and how to hunt them while practicing archery, the one thing she had left when it came to home. She did not like her stepfather at all and the two butt heads constantly. It escalated to Maxton hitting Elise in the heat of an argument. However, after Maxton was arrested and put in jail, Emma threw Elise out of the house at 13 for “ruining her happiness.” With the help of her grandparents, Elise made her way to Frosthold where her father was now located. 

Upon reuniting with Megan, she was also excited to meet her mother’s new girlfriend Lou Lou Lapin. This was her mother now, not that cow who choose her new husband over her. This was her life now.  Elise, now living a happy life in Frosthold, began her training as a vampire, making friends along the way and learning of the dangerous game the wealthy class is playing.
