Commercial Rights

He judges you here, too.

Commercial Rights Pricing

THIS MAY CHANGE IN THE FUTURE AS I HAVE YET TO GAIN EXPERIENCE WITH COMMERCIAL RIGHTS BEING BOUGHT

Commercial rights for a character design will be +300% of the original commission price.
Commercial rights for an art piece will only be +100% of the original commission price.
(Price is lower because I did not create the design in the case of art of an existing character)

This is in addition to the original cost, so, for instance, a $75 design would be $300 total after the commercial rights fee, while a $75 art piece would be $150 total after the commercial rights fee.

Please be aware that my normal style of art is not suited to merch sale, and that I will need to be given a heads up if you plan for the original reference to be used as merch so I can design it accordingly. If a design is commissioned as a reference, I would prefer that reference not be used as merch unless edited to be more fitting.

Patreon is something I will also consider as commercial rights. If, for instance, you are making a webcomic, and part of the Patreon is getting early access to comic panels that include the character design, you are making a profit off of the design.

(If you have any questions about this, please ask)

I will look into creating merch designs, however keep in mind if you are also having me design a character then there will be a fee for both the character design's commercial rights and the commercial rights to the merchandise image.

Commercial Rights Rules

Normal TOS applies

You may not under any circumstances remove credit to me or remove my signature from an image. Commercial rights do not give you permission to do whatever you please with the reference of the character.

Removing my signature will result in a complete loss of rights to the character, and you will not be refunded. Repeated failure to credit me after being asked to or reminded to give credit will also result in this outcome. Credit is taken very seriously and I will not tolerate my allowances being taken advantage of.

Additionally, credit must be given somewhere that is easy to access by someone viewing the place the art is shown. If it's merch, it must be credited on the item's purchasing page. If it's a youtube channel mascot, credit it in your about section. If you have questions on how best to provide credit, please ask.

Edits such as what is listed in Terms of Service are still allowed, but you may not take credit for the image in any way even if edits such as scars or jewelry are made.

Additionally, you may not ask someone else to edit it for you. The edits must either come from your own work, or be requested from me after completion.

Exception: personal roleplays, and nonprofit personal comics

Obviously, personal roleplays are perfectly allowed. Something like DnD or any other roleplaying game where you might use my character design, yknow? Same deal with a webcomic. As long as it's just a personal project, it's fine.

As long as the character design (or art piece) itself isn't being profited off of in an animation, a comic you make money off of, or a roleplay you'll make money off of, you don't need commercial rights. If this is taken advantage of it will change to be more restricted, so please don't take this allowance for granted.
