thatkinkyautistic:

Autism acceptance includes accepting all autistic manners of communication.

That means supporting autistic people who talk in a “very childish” way. (I do this a lot irl)

Autistic people who do “TV talking” (this means talking like a character from your favorite media, basically talking in quotes and copying their speech patterns,as far as I know)

Autistic people who use echolia.

Autistic people who are very awkward/quirky when they communicate.

Autistic people who are overly technical,or have very sophisticated and articulate speech.

Autistic people who mumble.

Autistic people who talk really fast.

Autistic people who can’t control their tone of voice/inflection.

Autistic people who talk in a monotone voice.

Autistic people who use different kind of sounds,or body language to communicate.

Autistic people who talk slowly and draw out their syllables.

Autistic people who use a lot of sentance fillers.

Autistic people who use Aac devices, communication cards, etc etc.

Edit: acceptance of nonverbal autistics is also necessary. Nonverbal people deserve love, respect, acceptance, accommodation and support.

AO3 IS IN TROUBLE IF CALIFORNIAN AGE VERIFICATION LAW PASSES

image

An upcoming Age verification bill centered in California will be voted on Monday– And as always, instead of actually protecting kids, it will lead to more online censorship and privacy risks, as it will force websites hosting to verify their users age by sending their ID, your browser history would be linked to it. if you live California, call your reps and tell them to oppose the bill AB3080 as it highly unconstitutional.

They also deem LGBT content harmful to minors, as well as mentions of weapons and tobacco, putting them on the same level as NSFW content.

Since AO3 headquarters reside in California, much like Reddit, Twitter,Discord and Youtube (and others) who knows how bad the effects would be. Instead of just effecting Californians (even then its concerning.) the effects would be US or even worldwide. VPNs wont help.

Please take actions here (a script is included to help you) https://www.defendonlineprivacy.com/ca/action.php

Find your rep here https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/

You can also send faxes using this https://faxzero.com/

If you don’t live in California, please talk about this, tag your friends and urge others to take actions, make posts and tweets using the hashtags AB3080 and NoOnAB3080

More info HERE

Also reminder that the arguments of your message don’t matter. You’re not going to convince your legislator by the quality of your words, so don’t worry about just sending in the default message. What their office does is record the quantity of messages sent in.

Police may also feign kettles in order to cause a protest to disperse.

Protests that move quickly are harder to kettle (but are easier to split up as people get left behind).

Something important to note is that kettles are used by police to gather intelligence. Police may tell you that you will be allowed to leave if you provide your name and your address, if you give information about other protestors etc. Police can and will lie to you, do not trust them. Never talk to cops.

Being trapped in a kettle is stressful. Police may decide to arrest a few of you or all of you. Their goal is to gather information and to demoralize you. They might threaten or harass you. Your goal should be to remain calm and to help the people around you remain calm. Remember if nobody talks, everyone walks.

Being polyam is FR like “I’m not aro/ace but I believe in their beliefs”

Posted this an hour ago and already got the tags peer-reviewed twice so here they are in the main post for all to see:
#sexual stuff doesn’t make/break/define a relationship #People can be meaningful to you in a variety of ways and these are all valuable #The nuclear family is a false ideal #I could go on

As an aroace, right back at you OP! I’ve legitimately thought about making an ‘I’m not polyamorous but I believe in their beliefs’ post before.

It’s us together against amatonormativity and traditional relationship hierarchy. ✊
