Quick Vivid Lust redesign in preparation for art fight (he basically just got top surgery and a slightly different outfit lmao). I was really inspired by listening to Plastic Hearts by Miley Cyrus this time around, I thought the album really fit their vibe!!

I’ve had this concept for a while but wasn’t able to flesh out the design until now!

This is Estelle and the monster inside their head, Oleander! Oleander is the physical embodiment of Estelle’s OCD and trauma affected by OCD. Estelle must learn to survive living with Oleander and his constant harassment. I really wanted Estelle to show some physical symptoms of OCD, so I designed them with damage, dry thighs and hands, acne scars from face picking, and no lower eyelashes from hair pulling. Estelle’s colour palette is inspired by the OCD flag and Oleander’s is inspired by the OCD ribbon!

Hey everyone! My Algonquin portfolio was accepted a few weeks ago and I am so excited to finally get to go to school for animation! I found seeing other people’s accepted portfolios extremely helpful when working on mine, so I thought I would post mine to help out anyone applying in the future.

So, before we get started, I want to share a little bit of background information for some context. After graduating high school, got into Sheridan College’s Art Fundamentals program, dedicated to spend my time building my portfolio for their Illustration and Animation programs. I overall did not have a good experience at Sheridan, for many reasons I prefer not to go into, and my portfolio for Illustration was rejected. But the whole thing wasn’t a total loss, the program definitely helped build my skills. This year I decided to take a gap year to focus even more on my portfolio, unfortunately due to health issues I was only able to complete one, and I choose that one to be the Algonquin Animation portfolio. I hope you enjoy seeing what I have created in the past couple of months, and if it helps you out in any way, that would be even better!
