the whole mutual thing is really overhyped on this site. sometimes interests don’t match up and that’s the only reason why there isn’t a mutual following. if you’re a regular in my inbox or my notifications, i have visited your blog before. if i didn’t want you around for any reason, you would be blocked. so yeah. you can spam my notes and/or talk with me (and possibly become my friend) even if i’m not following you back. no worries.
This is very true. Like being a mutual is cool and all, but I enjoy people who just regularly Like or Reblog or Reply to my posts! I’m happy you’re here! I am very selective about which blogs I follow AND how many because otherwise it takes me too long to browse my dash and I compulsively want to see EVERYTHING on my dash, so it’s better for me to be choosy, and that’s not a reflection on anyone. I appreciate my friends who follow me even if I don’t follow them back!
protip: never ever mention a mistake you notice in your own art. 9/10 times it goes completely unnoticed until you point it out. and then that draws attention to it and then theyre actively LOOKING for the mistake. i never notice a damn thing until the artist points it out, hell ill think its intentional. like python in bag on subway or however those wise words go
even if i do notice mistakes personally i still dgaf. if anything it makes me like the piece more bc it has a mistake. it feels more human. like. aagh! another artist made this thing, just like me! we make mistakes! isnt that cool? also, pointing out ur own mistakes out loud just kind of makes you feel worse in the long run i think, even if self-critique(and i specify CRITIQUE. honest to god feedback/critique, not self-flagellation) is good for improvement

MATEO ?!?! MY CUBE? MY STUPID CUBE? OMG. OK. HERE I GO. I LOVE YOU. 1- hmm. well. hes my own personally engineered blorbo hand-designed to check all my own boxes. so i kind of feel like im just jerking myself off to talk about why i like or dislike him LOL. i designed him to be a comfort character and he is!! but hmmhmmmm… i like his design bc hes really easy to draw for me shape wise. i could probably draw him with my eyes closed. and hes yellowsies and robotsies. and i like his personality, bc, as per hand-made-personally-engineered-blorbo rules, im kind of obsessed with characters that are The Reasonable/Normal Guy surrounded by Insane Guys who force them to be the voice of reason and/or angry one (think like, tsukishima golden kamuy, chilchuck kindof, and id even argue zoro is kind of like this).
