So for your infection au, DOES Pinkie end up turning too or does she hold out/isn't as infected? I noticed she didn't turn while Granny, Applebloom and Cheese turned much sooner despite shorter turning times AND Maud somehow,,,aware??
hey! :) thanks for asking abt my infection au!! I LOVE talking abt it and while i'm still writing for it in between work + classes I do have some plot points already planned out that I can answer
- Maud is aware of the tainted cider because of the "sense" she, Pinkie, and the rest of their sisters have. While she doesn't know exactly what's wrong with the cider, she knows that she shouldn't drink it and ultimately dumps it out. Pinkie realizes something is wrong with it too, but only after she's already had some, since she's a lot more excitable/impulsive than Maud is and wouldn't have stopped to check the cider beforehand since she's had it every year up to this point with no issues.
- You're correct that Pinkie has been infected for a lot longer than a lot of the characters that have already turned! Some ponies are resistant to the Apple Rot and can either take much longer to turn or never turn at all. Most ponies turn within a few hours of initial infection, but some can last for months. For those more resistant ponies, it's impossible to know if they're fully "immune," since there's the possibility that they could turn at any time. Pinkie so far is confirmed to be one of these resistant ponies. Like I said, I'm still working on the story in between other things, but I do have plans for one resistant pony to turn at the worst possible moment (though that pony might not be Pinkie.) thanks for asking!!
