Henry and his fat cat, Timmy
I didn't use a ref for this so my anatomy is probably funky but I like how it turned out regardless
im starting to think you guys dont like it when stories make you feel things
I've seen this post going around with people dunking on it, and the notion that "bad things shouldn't happen in stories cause it makes people feel bad" is complete bullshit, and this commenter is absolutely wrong, I do want to share my thoughts about the other extreme of this.
You do not NEED to kill off characters. I have met people who think they HAVE to kill off a character for their story to have an emotional impact, and that's not the only way to provoke an emotional response from your readers, guys!! If you have a checklist of "X amount of characters must die for my story to be Emotional™️" it's not the best approach imo. You should do what's right for your story, not feel like you should have something included if it's feeling forced.
Half of the main cast of my comic is dead by the end, but in the spin-off I wrote, none of the main cast dies, despite the main cast size being twice the size of the former. It was just what was fit right for both stories.
TLDR; Don't feel pressured that killing your characters is a must in order for your story to provoke an emotional response from readers.
Ok I think I got all my ULTRAKILL art out of my system now

Answer the question, Amity 🤨
Save me superhero au
Eleos, a side character of mine. They are a botched attempt at an artificially created shape shifter
3 months- shedding ability discovered, no major changed to body plan other than larger size and a few new colors on their eyes
9 months- staff have begun actively encouraging them to be more human, treating them like a child rather than a puppy, resulting in an almost primate-like transition form. their fingers are longer, though not totally functional, and they tend to shuffle around awkwardly due to the length of their arms compared to their legs. staff have started to encourage them to attempt to stand upright and read them children's books as often as possible
21 months- locomotion similar to a chimpanzee, partially bipedal but still relies on arms. fingers and hands are more functional though they lack the dexterity of human hands. they are also learning to read simple books on their own and answer easy questions about the story.
28 months- true bipedalism achieved, hands are much more functional as well. they kept the scarf appendages to help keep their head and neck warm. at this age they can read and write about as well as a 5th grader and have been taught how to use an aac device to communicate as they can make sounds but not form words
i love this character so much......i hope they get seriously injured and almost die
worried that thing you put in your art or writing or game or music is too self-indulgent, too self-referential, too niche for anyone but yourself? fear not! you can do whatever you want forever. and you should.
