Traits

Traits Information

Asteri have certain traits that make them who they are! I have included a detailed list below. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the question forum! By creating an Asteri you agree to these guidelines.

Guidelines get a little wonky when breeding and/or editing Asteri using 4dopt's built-in system, but these are my ideas of what make Asteri, Asteri. Obviously, I cannot stop you from editing your 4dopt adopts however you see fit & I will not be policing them. These are mostly guides for what to do if you are creating an Asteri outside of 4dopt!

note: traits are subject to change and more may be added in the future! :)

General

Items marked with a red star (spiny ears, spikey tail, multi-style horns, spiny halo) are EXCLUSIVE and cannot be used without my permission.

Eyes

Eyes are one solid color. The pupil shapes can be round (circle or oval), rectangular (sheep/goat), X, heart, or they may have none. All are equal in rarity.

Tails

All Asteri have a tail. The tail is the same texture as their skin until it gets to the tip, which has fur/hair. Asteri do not shave off that fur. Tail fluff can be varying lengths and textures, but spiky/spiny textures are rare (not naturally occuring). Some Asteri may braid/plait/style their tail fluff.

Halos

Generally speaking, Asteri have a halo. It is rare not to have one. They come in 4 main styles: single, double (two halos, not overlapping), melting (single halo dripping), and radial (inner circle with "rays" connecting to outer circle, extending out of it slightly; upright). The halo does not glow. Rarely Asteri may have a spiny halo (single with spikes coming off)

Ears

All Asteri have ears. They come in 2 main styles: straight and round (straight ears with two rounded additions). Rarely they will be spiny (like rounded but sharp).

Horns

Asteri can have horns (or none at all). There are 3 main styles of horns: upright (two pointing upwards), single (unicorn), and long (two pointing outwards, longhorn-like). When having more than one horn prong, all the horns connect in the center of the forehead to form a single horn entity. The name "long" may imply it is the only horns that grow longer, but all horns can be of varying length (long refers to longhorn-like style). Rarely Asteri have multiple styles of horn fused into one.

Length of horn will vary throughout an Asteri's life. Younger Asteri have shorter horns, while older Asteri have longer. They grow indefinitely until death and are a good measure of age and maturity.

Gems

Asteri may have a gem where the horn connects together/to the forehead. They can be round, diamond, star, or heart shaped. They can also have no gem. A corresponding gem may be worn to fasten clothing around the collar.

Wings

Asteri have feathered wings. They are usually a plain solid color, but there are 3 different patterns available: tipped (feather tip different color), gradient (tipped, but color fades), and galaxy (wings have galaxy/space pattern and colors).

Markings

Asteri skin can have a variety of markings, detailed below. Up to two (2) markings can be combined. Markings that appear in multiple areas (icing, gradient, gloved) do not count towards that total (E.g. you can combine gloved (with both tail & hands) and another marking).

Icing

This marking looks like thin icing/sauce was delicately poured over the Asteri. It occurs on the top of the head, tail, or both areas.

Stripes

Asteri can have thick stripes on the arms, tail, and legs. The stomach/chest/hands/feet may be the same color as the stripes or as the main body. Stripes do not occur on neck or head. The lines do not have breaks and are solid rings around the body. The thickness can vary slightly, but should still be relatively thick (use your judgment).

Drawing detailing that thin stripes and tiger-like stripes are not allowed. Thick stripes of varying width are allowed.

Gradient

Much like icing, gradients can appear on the arms, tail, or both. On the arms, the gradient may not go past the elbow. They can be any length on the tail as long as the gradient does not bleed onto the back.

Drawing showing different arm gradient lengths. The first goes a bit past the wrist and the second nearly to the elbow. The third drawing indicates past the elbow is not allowed.

Gloved

Like previous markings, gloved patterns can appear on the arms, tail, or both places. They are similar in appearance to gradients but instead of the color fading, it is blended with criss-crossing lines. The same rules as gradients apply for length on arms/tail.

Half-tone

Asteri can have half the body one color, the other half a different. It is split perfectly down the middle, including on the tail.

Speckled

Asteri may have freckle-like speckles. It most commonly occurs across the entire body, but can be grouped in different areas, such as on the face, shoulders, hands, feet, and tail.

Drawing showing the different speckle patterns. First: cheeks, shoulders, tail. Second: cheeks, shoulders, tail, hands, feet. Third: head, shoulders, arms, tail, hands, feet. Fourth: entire body.

Patches

Patches are large chunks of color across the entire body. The patches are generally round-ish (made of circles). Some can be individual large spots and/or large spots with smaller spots overlapping to create a larger patch.

Anatomy

Asteri have four limbs (2 arms, 2 legs), a long fluffy-tipped tail, and a set of wings. They have 2 eyes, 2 ears, a nose, and no mouth. They have 4 fingers and 3 toes. They are rather humanoid in appearance. They can have any sort of body type as long as the main characteristic listed here are preserved.

Colors

Asteri features can come in any color (brights, pastels, shades of black/white, anything in between). Each part is a solid color (e.g. horns are one color, skin is one color) unless there is some sort of marking on the area. The marking is also a solid color (e.g. pink skin with blue patches). Natural (human) skin tones only appear on skin (body/ears) or horns.

Clothing/Accessories

Asteri wear long robes (to the ankle or longer). Any style of robe is generally alright, as long as it allows for free movement and has space for wings/tail to exit the material. The material should be light to allow for flight. Asteri do not feel temperature, so climate is of no concern. The robe may be transluscent.

Robes can have fancy collars, which often mimic the style of Asteri horns. They may also have shawls to cover the shoulders, attached to the collar, which can be transluscent. The collars are often fastened with gems.

Some Asteri wear accessories as well, such as jewelry, flowers, or rings (similar to a halo, but float around the tail or arms). They can wear any number of earrings. Facial piercings are rare. Asteri do not wear jewelry on the tail, wings, or horns.

Drawing showing an Asteri with multiple ear piercings, necklaces, and bracelets. It says that earrings and necklaces are OK and come in many styles, such as hoops, dangles, studs, etc. and chokers, long, short, chains, etc. There is no jewelry on the tail, wings, or horns.
