WHAT ARE BUKIMI?

Bukimi are a type of eldritch being who wish to integrate into human society for a plethora of reason unknown to everyone else. Whatever the case, all Bukimi are ones who have decided to do this. There are other Kimi who stay in the wild, and choose not to interact with humans. Bukimi were originally creations of Epimetheus, along humans, who were made by his brother, Prometheus. Epimetheus was saddened at the fact his creations would never reach the level of adaptability that humanity did. Because of this, came the first Kimi.

He would give them strong arms for strength, but smaller legs to support upper - body strength. They were meant for climbing and much more. Kimi are often based off of animals that Epimetheus had already created. Kimi also had another gift bestowed upon them.

The gift of transformation.

Kimi could imitate those beings that it had come into contact with, albeit it was far from perfect. The first humanoid Bukimi were hunted and shunned for how disgusting they looked. After time, with more studying Bukimi figured out how to imitate humans with less mistakes, only with a few odd flaws. Nothing you would notice if you were walking down the street, that is. You wouldn’t know if it was a Bukimi standing next to you on that crowded bus. You wouldn’t notice the lack of the reflection in their eyes, either. It’s the small things that really make the most unsettling appearances.
