Traits & Mutations
The ancients says the world has a strong magic on every single thing. A strong power runs into their bodies and acts in different ways depending of their goal and purpose. That magical power runs inside every being, from the tinniest to the biggest---Strong or weak, evil or good, luminous or shadowy-- they all have a mysterious power inside them. That's why those who understand and love the magic in every little thing can see the world with its true colors and, for them, the phenomena in the sky shows more than astronomy and even astrology can tell. It's like that same light from the beginning of our world were showing its power again and those who can feel it...can be its guardians.
That's how the Laniling species had born--or what the recent researches says so. The celestial bodies has a strong magic in them. The sun, the moon, the planets and every single star has a power in them and it's associated with the "Creation Goddess" who gave energy to all the things, souls, life and elements from nature. They say her body is made of light and dark matter and her power is enough to drag the whole universe on darkness once again like a giant black hole---or---cover it with life and light forever in prosperity. They associate it with a feminine nature because those who had born by her hands describe her like a young girl who appears in the right moment they get touched by that light:
"A small silluette like a girl...Her light is almost blinding and she has void eyes--like the light and the darkness were fighting for control---look to her makes you remind of how life and death are always fighting each other."
So, everytime a person is borning and a astronomical phenomenon is happening it has a chance of that strong magical power touch the person in the first moment they have contact with the world by themselves and change their nature to a laniling. That's how their body can have different shapes and blessings because they're still have some characteristics from their main species, even if they get new traits from Lanilings. They don't have any animal form but has a simple lumen form that permit them to pass through walls and possesses objects for a while.

—Culture and Goals
They work as guardian angels watching people and using their presence to inspirate them and helping them on their way in life. Some lanilings like to act like cupids doing a lot of little pranks and making people falling in love, others dedicates their lives to help creatures in despair and misery to find a new way and others even works as guardians in battles. Most of them tends to worry so much about other's happiness and forget about themselves and become stoic and lonely, forgetting about their own lives and their own way.
On those moments, they need someone to make them to remember about their own happiness also being important. Their own personality are really strong and their thoughts too, so they can be really stubborn about what they believe and it makes them being really hard to be manipulated. Lanilings usually have a good nature, but corrupted ones aren't impossible to exist. A corrupted laniling will lose their decorative wings and get void black wings, usually using it as a replacemente of their decorative ones and losing the hability of fly.
—Types—
Lanilings are divided in three types and they're not really work in a system of rarity, but in what type of event created them. It defines their natures and their colors, usually following their type's mood.
Sun
"Sun" lanilings are related to day and organic magic, they're linked to events that happens at day and usually are cheerful and have warm and brighter colors. Originally full of life and energy, they're as vibrant and warm as the own sun.
Moon
"Moon" Lanilings are related to night more than day and innorganic magic, they're linked with events happening at night or dark sky and has more cold colors and darker ones. They're rarer and have a more reclusive nature, but also lovely.
Eclipsed
The "eclipse" Lanilings are known for their dual nature. They had born from eclipses (either lunar or solar) and it gives them a brute magic that mixes light and shadow in a delicate line. They're considerated mythical creatures and keep the ballance between darkness and light in name of their goddess.
They used to live on the "Lunar Shrine" and after their creator disappeared, the temple got into ruins. Many lanilings would back there to wait for their creator's return and would keep a devotion to the place, even if it's destroyed now. A while ago, a new temple had rised and for many lanilings, it was a signal of their Creator's return and it gave back motivation and hope to all lanilings around, seeing their homeland being rebuilt in a new place.
—Anatomy
Laniling has a angel-like body and their most notorious characteristics are their type who are shown on their halos, the decorations that appears on their bodies ( that reflects their wishes so they're unique, except on some identical twins who are really rare) and a Crystal on their back from where little wings come out like a type of collar. They said, every Laniling can see everyone's crystals that represents their lifespawn and soul but can't see their own. It's like they can see everyone's virtues but not their own, so they tend to doubt if they have anything in special at all, because they can't see their own crystals no matter what. The little wings around their neck moves by itself and it's a constant reminder of their missions and as more obsessed with it they get and forget about their own happiness more it closes around their neck and...sometimes, ends killing them.
They also need to charge their own energy everyday and their health is shown really clearly on their halos. If they get away from sun/moon a lot of time, their halos starts to fade and die...and it reflects on their body who gets really hurt and sick. The first signal when a Laniling is about to die is when they hide their halos, because probably it's so damaged they don't want to show it. A Laniling halo never disappear even when they're dead, in the truth, after they die, it's the only thing they left behind. They say it turns into a type of bracelet that ressembles the original halo. A laniling dies when their crystals on back breaks, either by a strong damage or illness.
—Other relationships and Procreation—
Lanilings are a little shy and insecure so they're always watch someone for a while when they're interested before talking to them. It's almost like "making sure they won't get scared with me at all" feeling, so they give little tips about their presence like a nice smell on the place and a good feeling, they visiting you at dreams so finally they can meet you in person without feeling much anxious. Lanilings doesn't endure well bad feelings, getting usually weak and ill by them--that's the main reason they always tries to cheer up people and give them more positivity, because for them--feelings like sadness, loneliness and anger hurts a lot...and they want to protect others from it.
They're considerated Drop-zilla 's opposite twins. While dropzilla had been created by dead people, despair and darkness--Lanilings had been created the first moments of a life, hope and light. They said they're like ying yang and both are in ballance since, dropzilla, with their good heart and human heart can help lanilings to never lost their humanity and good heart--and lanilings are always happy to show dropzillas the right way on their new lives, no matter how desperated they are.
For Lanilings, getting children is really hard because their body can't get pregnant at all. Besides that, they have a peculiar way to procriate: They use their tails to pierce their partner's soul and put in it their essence and feelings, putting a fragment of them into their partners like an induced pregnancy, marking them with a type of seal on their belly. Gender or species doesn't matter much since their body doesn't change that much while it and at the first moment their partner has a contact with an astrological phenomenon,the seal will glow and then the baby will be ready to born, using the energy their parents and the baby were sharing all that time and coming out from that seal.
It can take months or years to the baby born---depending how much time their partner takes to be touched by a phenomenon. That's why usually they pray to their goddess for a special event on sky to their babies being able to born. The baby usually comes as an type of cocoon where their wings are covering their body until they get used with the world's energy.
When the partner is also a laniling, they tend to keep connected by their tails while the pregnancy goes on.
