Kanjo Traits (KanKans)

Kanjo no ito's, otherwise known as just Kanjo's or affectionately KanKans, are an adorable species based on the looks of Japanese weather 'dolls'; otherwise known as teru teru bozu. These adorable 'dolls' bear the ability to help the weather of course, whether you're wishing for sun or rain. But the Aermerean incarnation of these 'dolls' have an incredibly strong tie to emotions more so than just helping the weather.

Each one has a ribbon around their neck like the traditional 'doll', but all the colors have a different meaning and a tie to different emotions, multiple braided color strings give you the ability to touch on a rainbow of emotions with just one lovely 'doll' companion. Kanjo's are most often considered cute little accessory pets, but they can act as friends and companions as well.

You obtain one by going to a shrine and using an ema to create a wish, if your wish is heard the shrine will grant you one of these cuties with a colored string or stings, based on the emotion or emotions of your wish. Many of these are said to bring good tidings and well being to their owners, and if your wish is strong enough they manifest a humanoid form, so you can have the bestie you always wanted.

All traits are pretty much stackable you can have up to 2 from each category stacked, with the exception of ribbon/bow colors via braided cords and such, you can pretty much stack multiple colors if you can draw a 4 colored ribbon or a 4/5 colored braided strings and even 6+.

When turning in your myo please specify the emotion your color is connected to, you get to pick one emotion per color. But that being said you can have a braided cord of 3 strings, and they can be all shades of pink, one for each emotion connected to pink so there is definitly a large variety of emotions and ways to convey them.

Special Note: Bozu can have a very rare form via item that can make them have special moving patterns or make regular patterns move. They can also have an alternative form known as a ChimiKan this is a windy chime type bozu. Please pay attention to the examples and anatomy of how these work with the regular traits as their will be some similarity and difference.

One Important Tidbit: Each ticket is $12 and it includes the 'doll' and humanoid form by default. It is possible to only turn in a 'doll', and your ticket would still be good for a turn in of a humanoid form at a later time. But, you can not have a humanoid form without a 'doll'.

String Meanings

(Please Read this is important~)

KanKan's string colors are very important as it ties them to the wish and the emotions they can help with or control. Sort of like a little therapy buddy. Their string color is the emotions they affect or project, and they are very in tune to it.

Please be cautious when using a black string! The hidden element of this specific color of string can sometimes have a negative impact on the other strings turning those positive emotions into their opposites.

It is also possible to have grey strings and is not at all common, so its not listed with the other colors. Grey Shades stand for - Neutrality/Balance/Modesty.

It's also important to note that you can use multiple colors of the same shade to hit more than one emotion such as Example. Magenta - Playful, Pink - True Love, and Pastel Pink - Nurturing. So there really is an endless combination of things you can do.

String Types

Most commonly you will find strings and ribbons around the necks of Kankans. It must be around the neck though in their 'doll' form, but in humanoid form the string can be present anywhere, in some cases, but is always visible and is again most commonly around the neck. Strings and Ribbons can also be formed or shaped, for example Akemi one of our mascots has a butterfly wing shaped set of strings, with two ends to her string.

More rarely you can also have a fabric or lace type of string, and also exceedingly rare is beaded and gemmed types of "strings". In the case of beaded and gemmed the different colors become the different gemstones and they still have the same tie to emotions the regular ribbons do. Both ribbons and fabrics can bear patterns on their strings. You can make gems more than on color per gem with the right traits.

Kankan designs are a familiar species so bear no actual rarity in Aermerea so the below rarities listings have no affect on your listing don't worry. Just proceed to make your dream design. Lore wise those things are just more common or rare. If you use gradients and patterns on your strings they have much more diversity so give some combos a try!

Charms and Accessories

Accessorize as you like! As many as you like whatever you like~

Many different kinds!

Kankans as they are commonly called in the Amorapuff cities are incredibly popular Lolita fashion accessories. Its like the equivalent of having a small dog or cat match your outfit. These kankans are often more decorated or decked out then Kankans in other regions. Some special kankans wear charms that match or mirror their amorapuff owner's. When a Kankan has a charm you will most often find it at the end of their string, instead of the common loop normally found at the end of string.

Kanjo's absolutely love to accessorize in 'doll' or humanoid forms. They can have any accessories you like such as but not limited to: bows, bells, barettes, hair pins, charms, scarfs and even hats. This list is only small really nothing is off limits to accessorize there are many many options. They can wear makeup in doll or humanoid form as well as their humanoid form possess natural or fantasy skin. They can have more than one layer to their cloth but it must be the same type typically. Strings can become tattered be careful of this it cane make your doll more delicate.

Halos!

These are 100% optional so do as you like its completly possible to have no halo at all. You can also take some liberties with them they do not have to be exact.
Make note KanKan halos do not float above the head but position behind the head, and are connected there/slightly floating off their fabric.

Chimikans

(Please Read this is important~)

Chimikans are a very special subtype of Kanjo! They are called chimikans because chimi representing chime and kan representing kanjo. They are based largegly off Terran Japanese Windchimes as seen in the chart below. While they do share some traits with Kankans they also have distinct unique traits.

Color meanings are the same so keep this in mind when you make your chimikan, the colors go on the cloth hanging out of the bell. Chimikans can have any KanKan "ears" and any Kankan halos as well as accessories.

If you look at the chart below you will see the unique to chimikan traits which include Bell heads (required), bell mouths (required), wind chime bodies, bells in chime, and cloth pieces. You can have braided, beaded, gemmed, instead of cloth just follow the kankan guidelines.

The below chart only shows glass and porcelain as body types but you can also have crystal and clay!
