Ahh, that's really cool that you're interested! And that's indeed correct, in-story Life would exist in a multiverse where any number of other universes could exist, and it's possible for links to be made between different universes. That would include the universes other people made, with their permission. The more exact explanation can be found in this topic, under "Universes and time travel" - http://toyhou.se/~forums/thread/5228.life-s-rules/1

Reading about the Mirrors and it occurred to me - since they are largely independent from their Originals, could a Mirror come to dislike their Original? Like, watching them and disagreeing with their actions, despising them for any pain that the Mirror has to go through? Could a Mirror do it's Original harm thanks to their connection?

Oh, absolutely! Mirrors don't necessarily have the same morality as their original and they differ in personality as well. If their original is a truly despicable person they're caught between the choices of still going along with the original despite them being an asshole even the Mirror wants nothing to do with, and risking being cast out because they decided that enough was enough and refused to follow them any longer. I can imagine that if a group of Mirrors with really annoying originals were to befriend each other, in secret they'd start making fun of those originals or start venting to the other Mirror about how much of a douche they have to deal with.

Funny thing is, many Mirrors whose original has died are cast out for that exact reason. Recently dead originals are often tortured for their first few years and many Mirrors flat out refuse to sit it out together with them all the way. Mind you, by just checking onthem they feel 100% of the pain they feel, and at that level they're not even dampening the pain yet. They stop checking on them and 'abandon them', only seeing if they are freed yet every now and then, and the people around them know what's going on and cast them out. Death is what often creates a huge dislike against the originals, even if it isn't their fault the system was built against them. And it's against the nature of the Mirror too, sorta like a Meeseeks not carrying out his task within a day really suffering from it.

And as for that last bit, currently only by a lack of action. Let's say a Mirror intervenes in about 40% of cases where the original would greatly suffer if no intervention was made, this is the statistical average. If an individual Mirror decides to intervene less than that, statistically their original is more vulnerable to pain than if they'd had a Mirror that did intervene whenever possible. It's kinda like walking past a kid getting bullied in the hallway instead of risking getting your ass kicked for trying to help that kid out; passive harm.

TL;DR: yes, yes, sort of
