THE COLONY

THE COLONY

THE RUMBLE OF A DISTANT HORN reverberates throughout the dirt and stone, HUSHED VOICES taint the air, and EYES TRACK your every move.

COLONY_INTRO.png

Bones of beasts muddle the pathways, both as a decoration and as a trophy for the battles won upon this soil. Graves are bordering the region in a scattered array-- messy, but with a hint of order, oddly enough. The scent of blood is fresh, though old blood still lingers heavily in the air, reminding anyone who crosses the Colony that they should be cautious.

Each of the broken down buildings are still bustling with sound. All sounds are quiet, muted, nothing more than whispers in the dark. Glowing eyes are the only things lighting up the streets. Verbal chatter barely exists, but the clang and jumble of machinery and clothing as bugs walk the dirt pierces through the silence. The Colony makes their judgements of those around them. Worth. Value. Power.

The residents appear united. They appear cohesive, not unlike a fabric stitched delicately together, with bonds so close, so tight, that one would need the most precise needle to bring them apart. Despite intimidation from the gazes of these bonemongers, it's evident that they have heart and a strong sense of family. Trust and respect are the virtues tattooed into their fur. Those in the Colony belong to the Colony.

WATCH YOUR STEP.

CLASSIFICATION: Bug.task(“Bonedigger”)

ORIGIN: The Colony

ACTIVE NAMESBonedigger, Autorio

Bonedigger speaks to his people on an equal footing, heeding their requests and calls with utmost sincerity and an unbiased nature. He's the current head of the new Colony, regulating the new traditions and rules to becoming or being a Colony member. He's often seen in the markets, making sure fights don't get too bloody, otherwise, he'll have to intervene.

The man has a growl in his tone, but he's soft-spoken and polite. Bonedigger will keep to himself if no one is need of his assistance, and may scout the borders of the Colony. He's also rarely seen in his career's uniform, opting to wear less burdensome attire and to focus on sharpening or polishing his bones.

He's considered the primary trainer for taming beasts. Bonedigger tends to the Beetlebeast stables, prepared for any Colony member that wants to learn to mount, capture, or even hunt beasts.

CULTURE/ENVIRONMENT

  • Worcimex in the Colony are strict about who they interact with. They will often only talk to other Colony members, and will be extremely wary or harsh to outsiders, no matter if they're from the Hive or the Burrow, or elsewhere.

  • Colony members are sorted into individual gangs or clans, frequently being self-established. Tattooed numbers or logos can be viewed on their bodies or masks, and occasionally unique attire is made to be worn over their uniforms.

  • The most common careers in the Colony involve those who are seen as "sketchy"-- weapons, dealers, underground businesses, and fighters. Trades and exchanges can easily be requested of any Colony member.

  • Brawls between Worci and/or beasts are out in the open. It serves as entertainment or as a way to show off strength or wealth. Some battles are restricted for safety, while others are to the death.

  • Bones are most frequently used architecturally, but some Colony members may opt to use bone scraps on their roads to pin or fix their clothes, or to craft and use as weaponry or tools.

  • Beasts roam the desert that surrounds the Colony. This includes many massive and overgrown bugs such as beetles, worms, spiders, and wasps.

  • The air quality is poor. It's dusty and would be dangerous to inhale, as large quantities of miscellaneous particles can get caught in a Worci's respiratory system. Respirators or ventilation masks are a necessity. Temperatures are high, but it's extremely dry, rather than humid.
