Firstly– this is the modified reflection for 2021-2022! It was intended to come out much sooner, but here is the current updated version. Some content in the original version has been cut, and will be postponed for future Owner’s Reflections when I have more available time.

Some content is also used for the June 2022 Bulletin, so some information may be restated.

Intro

Like usual, I always want to share my quick thanks for all of your support, understanding, feedback, and patience throughout 2021!

And like last time, all writing in this reflection is informal in order to get my thoughts out, but will remain as concise as possible. Information and thoughts will be cut down to be minimal, as all points discussed are plans/goals set for the year, but of course, if certain priorities need to be tended to; then we’ll be sure to get to those first, and nothing here is 100% promised nor set in stone.

MYO Sales on Hold
There won’t be any plans for paid (USD/Points) MYO slot sales throughout the year. However, free opportunities via events, raffles and special turn-in events will still be available.Bit MYO slot sales will continue like usual, so if you have bits, you’re still welcome to use them when Bit sales open.
Seasonal Charities
This is just a brief notice that charity events will continue to happen every season! Depending on time available, some charity sales will be smaller than others. Otherwise, I’m still happy with charity turnouts, and hope to continue improving them and our contributions moving forward! (Also, recommending charities is very welcome, please do so by sending feedback!)
Frequency/Complexity of New and Old Events/Updates
This year will overall be slower in terms of event frequency and general updates. I like to tend to events/updates directly, both in the planning and actual handling or management, but I’m also a university student, first and foremost! So, as much as I’d love to spend time on building and hosting fun and new events, I’ll have to take a step back to focus on my studies, projects, and connections.

During 2022, there’ll likely be no or few new events, only revamped / improved reruns of events that we ran in 2020-2021.It’s possible that there’ll only be one major event this year, or perhaps none. If there will be one, it may be akin to the original Spring Buzz of 2020, or a miniature and easier to maintain version of Grow-A-Worci, but again, there’s no promises on getting a major event done for 2022.

General updates, such as touching up on the Toyhouse world or forum thread, will still be slow.

Lore updates will be scattered and slow, for now. There won’t be any monthly or bi-monthly schedule, but I do want to put all my effort into conceptualizing the world and lore to give the species some life and personality. If lore is to come out, I’ll be sure to announce it like usual, but again, there won’t be an official schedule for when these updates will be released.

Any events hosted will try to be fairly simple and easy to participate in, avoiding adding too many complexities into any pre existing systems we have as of now.
There’ll be improved event timing during important holidays, or special seasons. By event timing, this does mean the upload and end time of the event, and how long it may last. Hopefully this will help against burnout, both for you participating and for us hosting/managing! Huge holiday based events may not be present during 2022 and 2023.
Toyhouse/Discord Transition
A bigger push into focusing our group’s information will be put into our Toyhouse world, as well as our Discord. Overall, deviantArt is hard to work with in its current state, so a proper finalized move to TH/Discord will be worked on.

A non-dA method of master listing designs and slots will be considered— most likely to be on either toyhouse, or offsite database. But, for now, there’s no set in stone method, and the current masterlist on dA will still be used and updated.

Like everything else, this transition will likely be slow, or may not occur until 2023 or 2024.

Focus on Group Enjoyment and Community
I’d like to focus 2022-2023 towards improving group enjoyment and fun during events! ARPG elements were not implemented very strongly during 2021, and I’d like to try to add some more game elements. For now, I anticipate this being more so on the collection side and possibly non-Worci MYOs (unpaid/free/reward only), but ideas and plans are flexible and not fully set. If there’s ever something that seems too grindy, hard to understand, or unfair, then this is a reminder to please let me know!

This does, of course, also means improving upon our means of community engagement and interaction, so general plans will be made towards that.

Adopt Adjustments & Opportunities (Crowe-specific)
I’d like to post more adopts during non-batch months, especially ones that are smaller, more affordable, and an easy way to get into the group for those with no plans for using MYO slots! Most of these smaller adopts will be flash sales, but some may be announced with a date and time, or be other methods other than FCFS.

Volunteer Opportunities, Mods and Guest Artists
Looking back at the 2020-2021 Owner’s Reflection, there wasn’t much opportunity for volunteer work or special batches, so I’d like to take the chance to implement this properly for the new year. Expect more volunteer opportunities and special batches to come around, as this will be a good way for me to get an idea of your skill sets and personalities! At most, I personally expect around 2-4 opportunities for the remainder of 2022.

New mods and new official artists will be on my mind for recruiting and applications, but I will not likely accept anyone new onto the team until I’ve got the time to train, and the time to tend to the group fully (2023-2024).

Other than that, the usual Mod Applications and Guest Artist applications will be closed.
