Population

As of 2020AR there are roughly around 5.8 billion human-like creatures on the world broken out as such:

  • 3.4 billion Resonator
  • 2.4 billion Maestros
  • 500K Naturals

Further breaking down the populations of Resonators, which are on the rise:

  • ~450 Million Canine
  • ~300 Million Feline
  • ~290 Million Sea faring Mermaids
  • ~200 million avian
  • ~150 million non-draconian reptiles
  • ~3 Million Dragons
  • ~1 Million Land based mermaids
  • ~2 Billion Other miscellaneous species

Natural population numbers, on the decline:

  • 160K Canine
  • 90K Feline
  • 30K Avian
  • 10K Dragon
  • 210K Other species

Population by continent (All-in)

Population Dynamics

In most human based Riterran towns and cities, maestros live alongside their resonators, with a small population of "stray" maestroless resonators living on the streets in the wild. Such strays are typically looked down upon as lesser, but there are very few programs to help them or even capture them. As long as they don't become a public nuisance, they're fine to live on the streets as they please.

On the inverse, there are many programs to help homeless maestros find their footing in society, even getting them resonators to assist in raid groups as hunters in some functional capacity in order to be of some use to the general public.

In recent years there has been a push to move to move to larger cities since the younger maestros tend to congregate there meaning there is better protection from the ever-growing threat of scherzando.

Smaller towns are vanishing as a result because the stronger maestros are abandoning them for more lucrative lands.

Meanwhile the larger cities where these maestros are moving to are finding themselves in a crunch to house all of these incoming maestros, leading to a lot of young, traveling maestros.

Naturals meanwhile dwell in places where humans and their resonators find inhospitable - the northern, icy regions have many furred species of naturals, while the deserts have many reptilian species who thrive in blistering heat. Additionally avian species find homes in high mountains they can easily fly to
