Their World

THE WORLD OF EFFERIA

88% COVERED IN SALTWATER - 3 GIANT LANDMASSES - 12 SMALLER ISLANDS
THE LARGEST LANDMASS, A SEABORN MOUNTAIN, HOMES MOST OF THE LIFE ON VALE

  • STATUS: GEOLOGICALLY STABLE
  • WEATHER: MOSTLY STABLE, SOME HURRICANES AND TORNADIC EPISODES
  • NATURE: MOSTLY SINGULAR MOUNTAINOUS REGIONS - ONE RAINFOREST
  • CLIMATE: MOSTLY TEMPERATE - NORTHERN LANDMASS UNINHABITABLE ICEBERG

Efferia is a small planet made mostly of water. As such, inhabitants have learned to live life in the air or at/in the saltwater seas. The most abundant landlocked species, and the most varied on Efferia, are the Lemea and the Mawths. The Lemea are fun, frisky, and technologically advanced residing primarily on the island of Vale while the Mawths are a more serious species the run wild in the forests of Aneitha. At sea, however, are huge beasts that can come up out of the water to feed on overhead flying creatures if they should fly just a bit too low. These megabeasts of the seas rule unconditionally. Even in the air where the Lemea fly, some larger birds and creatures of prey fly as well tho they tend to live much higher than where the Lemea fly and, unless starved, don't think much of eating a Lemea as it isn't but a small snack...

  • Vale is the largest mountainous island on Efferia.
  • Aneitha is the 2nd largest island complete with a rainforest.
  • Lato is the "uninhabitable" icy island in the far north...

THE MOUNTAINOUS ISLAND OF VALE

The largest mountain with the widest variety of life is the mountain island of Vale. Nestled happily in a temperate area, Vale can harbor all kinds of life, grow most any crops, has abundant freshwater for drinking, and is relatively safe from the catastrophic storms that roll through some seasons. The mountain is dormant and houses a giant freshwater waterfall that cascades down the mountain from the top and into the Plains of Growth and back out to sea. Because the non-mountainous land is so small, the first residents built the capitol city on the inner sea to maximize their ability to grow crops and tend herd animals... That city is Weir.

WEIR: THE CAPITAL CITY

THIS SEAFARING CITY FLOATS ATOP THE WATER...
THE EBB AND FLOW OF THE WAVES IS AS CALMING TO LEMEA AS THE BREEZE IS IN THE SKY!

  • STATUS: METROPOLIS
  • JOBS: TECHNOLOGY, MEDICINE, FISHING, AND MORE!
  • HOMES: HI-RISE APARTMENTS
  • LIFE: CLASSIC AND FUTURISTIC CITY LIFE
  • NATURE: CITY PARKS AVAILABLE
  • WEATHER: COOL AND BREEZY

Weir is a modern day metropolis filled with many many hi-rise buildings equipped with landing pads for incoming Lemea or vehicles (the landing pads are different!). While the Lemea can fly, they can't often carry much so vehicles of flight are necessary. Some vehicles of flight are small planes, helicopters, and some smaller jets for going farther distances outside the borders of Vale. Other vehicles the Lemea have at their disposal are cars, trucks, recreation vehicles, and more! They even have boats despite the general dislike of being wet.

Homes are often duplexes or better - one on top of the other instead of side-by-side - with landing pads for Lemea and garages below for any types of vehicles the residents may have. Many of the duplexes are hi-rise as are apartment complexes, businesses, etc. Most everything on the ground is for storage purposes of belongings that are unnecessary to keep indoors OR for gardens and other hobbies the Lemea may have that don't necessarily need to be indoors. Most buildings are also lit up all day and all night! The city is always alive with something going on!

The needs of Lemea are like that of most other species: food, clothing, transportation, health and wellness, spirituality, fun, education, and more! Buildings can be found everywhere in Weir that fulfill these needs and wants. And government is found most everywhere too! Posters and jumbo TVs with the Queen's image and daily message plastered all over them are common things to see and hear. Sometimes government positions open up too: Department of Flight, Core and Magic Oversight Department, Health Department, Department of Education, Criminal Justice System, and more departments under the imperial family can be found and hired into. Sometimes even a spot will open up within the Imperial Circuit directly under the Queen!

HEAVEN'S FALLS AND PLAINS OF GROWTH

PRIMARY SOURCE OF FRESHWATER AND FARMLAND

  • STATUS: AGRICULTURE
  • JOBS: FARMING, FORAGING, HUNTING
  • HOMES: SPARSE - SMALL SINGLE-FAMILY
  • LIFE: LITTLE TECHNOLOGY
  • NATURE: SURROUNDS YOU
  • WEATHER: WARM AND BREEZY, WET

Mostly agricultural - farms and homesteads - fishing, livestock, and crops. No hi-rises and technology like the internet, cars, cell service, etc has some trouble out here.

INNER AND OUTER SEAS

INNER: SAFE, FISHABLE
OUTER: DANGEROUS, FORBIDDEN

Inner sea is fishable and holds interest for Lemea looking for a good time (boating, surfing, etc). Many Lemea do like boating as they don't get very wet from it, so this is a favorite past time for many. Lemea that like to be wet really get into their own here with fun sports and activities that can be done nowhere else. The inner sea is fairly safe tho sometimes a creature from the outer seas tries to infiltrate the safe waters around Weir... Overhead and beach lifeguards are essential for the safety of everyone!

LINTORA

SMALL FARMING COMMUNITY

  • STATUS: CITY
  • JOBS: FARMING
  • HOMES: FARMHOMES
  • LIFE: DIFFICULT
  • NATURE: EVERYWHERE
  • WEATHER: WARM BUT BREEZY

Moderately technological and nestled in the lower portion of the mountains, these city Lemea make their living around farming and the trading and selling of their farmed goods. Hi-rises are smaller than in the big city but do exist. Most Lemea here have close ties to nature and the natural world.

RELIX

LARGE MINING COMMUNITY

  • STATUS: LARGE CITY
  • JOBS: MINING
  • HOMES: CLIFFSIDE DWELLINGS
  • LIFE: HARD BUT LUCRATIVE
  • NATURE: MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN
  • WEATHER: TEMPERATE

Dug deep into the mountain with cliffside dwellings instead of standard homes, Lemea here are hardy, strong, and very hardworking. Most of the jobs here are underground and are very difficult, mining precious gems and other resources for the Lemea to use and build off of. Technology is used very little here, and most of the goods in this city are purchased directly from Lintora with their cut of the resources they keep.

CASLEON

SMALL HUNTING/FORAGING COMMUNITY

  • STATUS: CITY
  • JOBS: HUNTING, FORAGING
  • HOMES: FARMHOMES, SHACKS
  • LIFE: DIFFICULT
  • NATURE: EVERYWHERE
  • WEATHER: WARM BUT BREEZY

This smaller city at the base of the falls boasts many huge festivals centered around medieval warfare and hunting. The city itself looks poor and unkempt, however the Lemea who live here seem to thrive, are hardy, and are usually faster than most. Casleon's residents takes pride in being self-sustaining.

HALET

SOMETIMES CALLED "LE HALET"
RICH COMMUNITY BOUGHT OUT BY ELITE LEMEA

  • STATUS: LARGE CITY
  • JOBS: FASHION, ARTS, ACTING/SINGING, ETC
  • HOMES: MANSIONS OF VARYING SIZES
  • LIFE: LUXURIOUS
  • NATURE: BOTH GREENERY AND MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN
  • WEATHER: HOT AND BREEZY

Halet is a stubborn and snooty city with clear borders and very strict laws. Only the elite (ie rich or titled) are allowed to live here, but anyone can come vacation or just look around (and then leave of course). Crime is minimal here; crime is met with incredibly harsh and swift justice.

PREEDA

THIS MILITARY FORTRESS IS PART OF WHAT HELPS KEEP VALE SAFE!

  • STATUS: CITY
  • JOBS: MILITARY, POLICE, ETC
  • HOMES: STANDARD HOUSING
  • LIFE: EXCITING BUT HARD
  • NATURE: MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN
  • WEATHER: HOT AND HUMID

This city is home to the training grounds of the military. While military heads are often in Weir at the office, in Preeda, all personnel train and prepare daily. Moving up in the ranks is desired; being stationed in Weir or any other city is desired. And rotations for troops are all-too-common - the Imperial family do not want their soldiers, police force, etc to become complacent or stagnant in ability. With a few small exceptions, no Lemea lives in Preeda full time and no member of the military, guard, police, etc live in any one city full time either...

BEYOND THE BORDERS OF VALE: ANEITHA

Aneitha is a vacation paradise! The singular rainforest exists on this large island. And while large, it does pale in comparison to Vale. Lemea have poured resources into making this the vacation go-to for those who have the time and money. Cruise ships sale from Vale to Aneitha and some jets also travel there (for those not willing to risk it all, the jet is safer tho more expensive!). The rainforest itself is protected but the smaller areas around it are built up with hi-rises, zoos, amusement parks, gift shops, and more! Very few Lemea actually live here as it isn't as well protected from storms as Vale is BUT some rich Lemea do live in the coastal seahomes.

BEYOND THE BORDERS OF VALE: LATO

Lato is the northernmost island. It is the smallest island tho looks much larger on account of the ice built off of it and all the glaciers. This island is too cold for Lemea to live and very few have even attempted to visit it. Some very hardy animals (small creatures) do live on the icy glaciers of the island, but that is about it and not much is known about them...
