Unnamed Onryō of the Underworld

The day she arrived, Hell became emptier.

A husk of a land of dread and rot, lost souls and the deceased wander the remains of the Underworld. Evil spirits do not dare come out in the open. Oni do not dare try to look for prey to torment. For "she" may be lurking just beyond the veil...

She searches the Underworld endlessly, fruitlessly, for the soul of her deceased child whom she has lost many millennia ago.

A true horror to behold, this vengeful spirit wears her rage and torturous past on her sleeve. She will never forget how she and her child were wronged, how she was wronged all her mortal life; and will continue to go through great lengths to achieve her goal, even if it ends up being impossible...

This lady takes great inspiration from various characters and my own ideas for a spooky monster woman, and a song called "The Ferryman" by FLOAT on youtube. 

Nowadays, she's very far removed from her initial inspirations the more I developed her. She mans a behemoth of a ship over the cursed waters of hell, and its as much as a part of her as her soul is. It can't exist without her, nor she without it. It is a labyrinth of rooms and ancient, traditional furnishings in a condition that is pristine. She records every day she has existed on animal skins, papyrus, and other surfaces that cover every inch of her calendar room. She never forgets. She's not much for words but... a glare from her can mean a thousand.

Unnamed was originally designed by my partner, Mirrin! Their concept is included here <3 She looks completely different now, but her origins still matter!!

She's so powerful due to the amount of souls she has overtaken that she practically became the unofficial ruler of the Underworld-- though she has no desire to rule it by any means. She's like an urban legend that will get you if you walk by yourself on the street to the residents of the Underworld, but very much real. Everyone is powerless to stop her
