Lavender

Backstory Type Stuff

Lavender has lived her entire life in TigerEye Peak. She absolutely adores the snowy, frigid climate and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Cold weather brings her more joy then she could express.

Though she's always preferred to keep to herself, she’s also often went out of her way to protect or help others ever since her childhood. These habits found her lifelong friendships in Ryllis and Pestilence. She also met her arcty, Amethyst, when she was young. He was the first animal she ever tamed. Her aspiration to work in animal husbandry and to learn to fight to protect others set in early youth and she has stuck with those aspirations ever since.

As she aged, Lavender became extremely prone to sickness. She always muddled through her illnesses silently, refusing treatment to instead prioritize spending money on giving her animals a comfortable life. Despite how well she was at hiding her suffering, her friends would still notice. These days, her health problems are much more under control thanks to the interventions of Pestilence's master doctoring.

Early in her animal husbandry and warrioring career, she was prone to serious injury. Now that she has become much more skilled with handling animals, her accidents with them are nearly non-existent. As she developed her fighting ability, she's learned to dodge dangerous blows or relies on her armor to protect her. However, she is still rather frail. Direct attacks will hurt her immensely. Thankfully, her quick feet keep her dodging those painful assaults.

Though Lavender spent a decent potion of her life struggling with illness and poverty, with the help of her friends, things have gotten much better and her life is now fairly comfortable.

Location and Living Conditions

Lavender shares a home with Pestilence and Ryllis. Loon also lives there.... sort of, in theory. It's a small house that gets a little crowded sometimes, but it suits everyone well enough. The house is located on the edge of TigerEye Peak to allow Lavender plenty of room for large animal stables, which are way bigger than their tiny house is. There's a lot of fenced in area to allow the animals space to roam. Lavender has worked hard to make the animal's spaces interesting for them to live in.

The house only has two bedrooms. Initially, one of those bedrooms belonged to Lavender but when Pestilence moved in Lavender gave the room up to her. Lavender now keeps her personal things in the stables and sleeps there instead. She is honestly happier being closer to her animals.

Personality Things

Lavender is very quiet and tends to keep to herself. She can be a bit awkward in social situations and often sounds uncertain in her speech as she typically hasn't much idea as what to say. She is very much an introvert and doesn't have much desire to seek many relationships. When she does speak to others, she does her absolute best to constantly remain polite, kind and friendly. This can sometimes draw people to her, which gives Lavender some stress sometimes as she isn't very social. However, her bond with animals is very strong. She is always happy to meet and befriend a new animal. She feels she can be herself with them more than with other furries.

With her shyness comes modesty. She dishes out a lot of genuine compliments to others and likes seeing other people feeling good about themselves but has difficulty handling them in return. She doesn't particularly think she's very amazing or deserving of admiration. When people give her too much love or attention, she finds herself wishing they would give it to someone else rather then her. Too much positive attention makes her embarrassed and uncomfortable, even from close friends.

She tends to come off as meek. Though Lavender definitely does have meekness in her demeanor, she undeniably has a fire in her heart. When she is passionate about something, she can be extremely determined about seeing it through. She likes to battle and is a very skilled combatant. Protecting others gives her a sense of purpose and she wants to assure that the village will always be safe from the creatures that roam the mountain. She did her best to protect her friends even as a child. Now that she is grown and armed with her trusty hammer and with a doctor to watch her health, she can fight better than ever before. She also forges her weaponry and armor herself. Lavender generally prefers to be independent and doesn't like to burden others.

However, always remember animal husbandry is her true passion. She only fights when she feels it's needed, if she finds herself longing for combat (a rare occurrence) or once in awhile simply to keep her skills sharp. She’d rather work with her animals as much as possible. Also, she is very particular about rehoming animals. She wants to assure they will only go to good places and will turn down customers and their money if she is concerned they won’t provide an animal with adequate care.

Assuming she is endlessly kind-hearted can be a mistake. Though Lavender is generally helpful and would hate to every be mean to anyone, her proprieties are always her animals. If asked for help, she is very likely to turn to request down with some sort of excuse unless she feels her help is necessary.

Although Lavender almost always treats everyone with kindness, becoming someone she more deeply cares for and considered a friend can be difficult. She’s just so disinterested in forming meaningful new relationships.

Amethyst

Amethyst has grown to the size of a very large dog. He's certainly big enough for Lavender to be able to comfortably ride him through the tundra. He is a considerably strong and fast creature with very sharp teeth.

He is extremely energetic, mischievous and a bit difficult to keep up with. He has far more energy then Lavender ever does and it can be challenging for her to try to keep him engaged and out of trouble. He has been known to destroy furniture and parts of the house for his own amusement, much to the despair of Ryllis. However, Amethyst is extremely loyal and tends to be very obedient when it really counts.

Amethyst and Lavender are almost always together, to the point where seeing one without the other can be a little disorienting. He can sense when she isn't feeling well better than anyone else ever could. He even accompanies her when she goes out to fight monsters. However, she is very insistent that he stay back and away from the dangerous situations. There was one single circumstance where Amethyst did involved to rescue Lavender from a Frozen Destroyer. She nearly considered leaving him home after, not wanting him to be at any risk. However, Lavender can't control what Amethyst does. Even if she left without him, he would find her on his own.

Though he is the animal that Lavender has had the longest, she does admit that she's not sure it's possible for anyone to ever fully tame him. But she loves him that way and she's glad he has a mind of his own. Amethyst is absolutely Lavender's best friend.

Character Relations

Ryllis: Her oldest friend. Lavender deeply appreciates everything Ryllis does for her, though his admiration makes her a little uncomfortable sometimes. She just feels she isn't as great as Ryllis thinks! Ryllis can also be a bit overbearing sometimes. However, Lavender has gotten pretty good at letting Ryllis know when he's bothering her. She spends a lot of time reassuring him and trying to help him feel emotionally content and safe.

Pestilence: Even though Lavender has known Pestilence for an extremely long time, she still feels like she doesn't know her very well. Pestilence can be so mysterious. Lavender holds Pestilence's suggestions in high regard, because she knows Tilly is very smart and has a tendency of being right. A very small part of her is a little jealous of how easily things seem to come to Pestilence. She's very grateful for Pestilence's medicine and admittedly feels a little indebted to her. She very much likes how peaceful and quiet Tilly can be. also lavender thinks tilly is very pretty

Loon: Lavender thinks that Loon is awesome. Loon has taught Lavender a lot and Lavender still feels she can learn so much more from them. Knowing Loon's perspective on monsters has changed Lavender's view on them, and she will never harm any that don't appear overly aggressive. In fact, she has defended monsters from other warriors before. Lavender wishes that she could spend a lot more time with Loon, but is respectful of Loon's need for solitude.

Pierre: Lavender really likes Pierre. He has a very cute, friendly attitude and he's very easy for her to get along with. She honestly finds his happiness to be somewhat contagious! Lavender likes showing him around and helping him out, she very much feels like he needs guidance. he really is a cutey isnt he

Scratch: Scratch is the most mysterious person that Lavender has ever met. She has absolutely no idea what Scratch may be thinking. That intimating vibe she has does effect Lavender, but she has seen how gentle Scratch can be when she handles the animals, so she knows there must be a very gentle soul in there. watching someone being kind to animals can really make a little bunny's heart flutter

Nyx: One of Lavender's very good friends. She's always very happy to hang around with Nyx. Many of Lavender's animals come from Nyx, and Lavender has sent her many animals in return. The way Nyx admires Lavender really flusters her. FL US TERS.

Captain: Another who Lavender frequently exchanges animals with. Lavender thinks that Captain has a lot of interesting stories and is very intrigued by her. really intrigued.

Artemis: Lavender deeply admires Artemis's crafting ability and fighting ability. She takes any suggestions Artemis has to improve herself seriously.
