Defined as an extremely dedicated man, both in regards to his work and personal romantic life, Mu Zhang has the tendency to entirely forget or ignore the needs of his own flesh-and-blood family in favor of personal gain and wealth; while he doesn't intentionally mean to, it is a habit that Mu has been unable to break for the thirty-nine years he's been alive. Although, in regards to romance, once Mu's heart has been captured he becomes fully devoted to the relationship, unable or unwilling to leave his partner thinking they were unloved or unwanted.

Mu "Rally Ma" Zhang was born in Hong Kong to a loving mother, Tze-Ling Zhang, and a father that was so important he thought it better to abandon his family then die; as his mother didn't make much money, being left to raise two children on her own, Mu grew up in the housing projects along with his younger brother, Jin. As a child, Mu often spent his time away from home, focusing on his school work or his personal projects that involved watching the local street racers or spying on business men and their phone calls. From working whatever odd jobs Mu could get he was soon able to afford the coolest gear around, subsequently fighting many jealous children in the housing projects; at some point in his childhood, Mu began to gamble, being incredibly lucky, he'd use his winnings as ' investment opportunities ' to buy rich foods and expensive clothes.
When Mu's mother died, when his younger brother became homeless from the loss of their home, he had forgotten about the reading of his mothers will, when he never showed to the office he lost the chance to talk with his brother and offer him a place to love; Mu was capable of planning and financing the funereal, but seemingly forgot about the well-being of his young brother. Around the time of his mothers death Mu became involved with a Triad. The group had been watching Mu during his street racing, nearly killing him on several occasions in rigged races, but the longer Mu lived and the longer he raked in cash, the more they wanted him as a business partner. At a party, Mu was offered a position with the Triad, and he would begin his partnership shortly after.
