Its no problem at all! I've never done pings before since I dont actually take comms traditionally - I dont have a price list and I'm generally really busy so I only really do them on a case by case basis for people that directly come to me.
In general, for the prolongued moment (until/if I ever choose to "open" them properly) I recommend just contacting me whenever the desire strikes and we can sort out the details for any budget - worst case scenario I will be busy at the immediate moment and may need to give a long turnover time or will say that ill contact back directly as soon as I am able to accomodate but otherwise I'll be more than happy to work things out whenever the question is asked.
I suppose in this case its fair to assume theyre always somewhat tentatively open
