No, and it angers me when people do it. It also worries me, I plan to get commissions hopefully in the next month or two and the idea of someone drawing something for ME and then someone else steals and uses it whether for rp or personal gain of making money scares and angers me. And what about folks not as popular as others? They wouldn't know if their art was stolen, well-known artist do have some sort of chance to talk or report it but lesser known wouldn't even know their art is being used ;_;
Does it really happen? Or am I going to work of watermarks for nothing?
Two days ago another person stole my gemsona. I swear to go it's always the fandom characters that I have that gets stolen..
someone, who is inactive now, stole one of my characters and tried to sell them but that was like 2ish years ago
I never got any of my characters stolen (at least I don't think so o.o;) Anyways I just watermark all of my characters just for safety and only give authorizations to friends/people close to me. Though I know that doesn't work because there's some people that know how to take off the watermark but it's better safe than sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was in a relationship at one point and they had gifted me a character as a gift but as soon as we broke up they hacked into my toyhou.se and transferred it over to themselves and posted a proof of ownership at the bottom and there is just no way for em to ever get them back even though I had gotten art for the 2 characters they took and everything :( (one character i had made in a generator and I don't know how i would be able to get proof of that one )
that just says don't let anyone know your password even if their close and water mark it maybe even put it n the image itself when your uploading it so people can't get into your account and take stuff
It happened to me in the past a few times. Someone literally stole my OC's profile, copy paste and all and claimed it as their oc.
When i confronted them about it, they went on how they wanted a character exactly like that and then used their rip off to try and kill my character in multiple encounters. (thankfully the dice rolls were in my favor)
Thankfully they got called out and banned for it cause they didn't even bother to edit the text to not have my character's name.
There was also a time a person sold me a adopt and then resold the exact same adopt. (found out cause i saw it on toyhou.se) Without notifing me or made any efforts to change it.
I didnt bother to confront them on it as it was a feral design and I didn't even use it other than it being my icon for a while. But it still wasnt a nice thing to find.
Another time some have tried to steal my main oc before, saying she is a miku clone and it doesnt matter because she isnt creative enough to be MINE
(when the only similar thing on them is their hair and that's still different, and they blantaly insulted the original designer >>)
That ended pretty quick, or at least hopefully. But thanks to all that all my rp friends have to miss out on my characters unless i tell them ooc or if they happen to know of my toyhou.se and even then i don't give this out too openly.
