Harper Gable is the love of Polaris' life. They are polar opposites (pun intended) but they help each other grow immensly. Harper is very shut off and doesn't know how to ask for help, they're both lonely in different ways but help each other grow. Polaris encourages Harper to chase her dreams and spice up her life, and Harper teaches Polaris many life skills and gives her the experience of a close person to go to. They fall for each other but don't know how to admit it, well, Polaris knows, Harper doesn't quite understand her feelings..

Roy G Bickley is Polaris’ best friend in the whole world. Their platonic love is just as strong as the romantic love between Polaris and Harper (if not stronger). They met pretty recently just around town during festivals, parks, etc always being drawn to each other but never even exchanging names. They just played together like children. Polaris became Roy’s rock, they learned everything about each other, most importantly that they were both shunned from home. They formed a deep emotional bond and Polaris was the one that gave Roy his name when she found out he was trans. They never exchanged names because Roy didn’t know his. No matter what they’ll always treasure each other.

Merrick is the only direct family that Polaris has in her life. And he is a horrible person to her. He wants to be just like their uncle and follows his ideologies. He hates Polaris for being gay, childish, and bubbly. He sees her as an embarrassment to their family. Both of them never got to know their parents but developed in different ways. Polaris always wanted to cling onto what family she had, but eventually gave up trying to love Merrick. She still cares about him as a brother and believes somewhere inside Merrick must care about his only family member, but with the influence of their bigoted uncle, she knows he’d never be able to give her any respect or love.
