Jaspen ("Penny" for short) is the Eliatrope Scout, a member of the Eliatrope Council. After connecting the dots to expose Qilby's treachery Penny was drowned by him in the sacred fountain. In her next life, she was reincarnated into the World of Twelve and raised by Rima Allure in Bonta. When Rima goes missing, Penny sets out to find her adoptive mother with the help of the Brotherhood of the Tofu.

Penny fights agressively without backing down. She's more likely to run out of energy than to give up. When they fight, they're usually very angry and tend to swing wildly. She doesn't have very much control over her attacks, and usually damages her surroundings quite a bit. Others usually describe her style as "Ioppish", "crude", and "reckless." If she had a motto for her fighting, it would be "swing first ask questions later."
