About Vision

With years gone by, the meaning of his revenge dwindled. It's to be expected, of course, as the passage of time between those centuries will make even tragic loss diminish to a far-gone memory. What drove Alexei to action was more akin to stubbornness than the desire for justice — he no longer remembered much of the faces of his family from back then, after all.
His planning, however, was meticulous. His desire for his foes to feel bitter agony as he once had — at the least, he thought he did — was overwhelming. He's come so far, why stop now?
It took him hard work to get to where he wanted. Lengthy, numerous years focused on locating his target. A long time infiltrating their coven and showing himself as a trustworthy, good-natured guy to get the results he craved.
It was almost perfect, the best show he could put on for his personal satisfaction if it weren't for one rat escaping. He ought to catch it. After so much, he couldn't have that be the end, and, as if the gods acknowledged his long-standing performance, a piercingly cold vision appeared on him. Alexei couldn't help but laugh at the irony of his play. It ended as it started, corpses frozen still and encapsulated in eternal ice.

About Alexei

Alexei, formally known as Brighella, worked for the Fatui as a Captain for many years, though rarely did he use any form of team. Despite his familiarity with all the scheming, he longed for a different form of entertainment. In the early years of his service, he mostly kept to himself, only being seen upon summoning or when he was, for lack of a better word, training recruits – often leaving them as headaches for the designated healers.

Rushed words and rumours often were heard trailing behind him. He's been in the Fatui for a long time, after all, always with the same bright red hair and youthful eyes.
Being now one of the most approachable superiors, he often hears questions about his lack of ageing. "It's a tragic tale", he'd say with humour to his tone, "It would seem I was born with a curse! The result of two parents who practice witchcraft, I'm sure!". He never goes into the dirty details, the village he grew up in, his found family's demise and the ending of his parents' coven – that'd be a tale for another time.

He's met many interesting people within the Fatui. Childe is one of his favourites, their meetings never dull as a fight would break out on the mere sight of each other. Alexei proudly tells agents he still has the winning score.
He gets along with the girls, as well, as the vague feelings of adoration he felt for his sisters from the village can be familiar and similar enough. "Alyosha", they call him, and he often finds himself being a helping hand, collecting materials for Sandrone and playing with Columbina, studying spell applications with La Signora and helping out at Arlecchino's orphanages, both with the kids and with tracking the necessary targets.

None are as interesting as the harbinger named Scaramouche, though. He finds his outbursts rather cute and his every move entertaining. The young puppet was the reason Brighella changed in the first place, from his isolated and feared behaviour to a cheerful and approachable superior; it both makes Scaramouche's work easier and allows him to stay by his side. There's never a dull moment with him, after all. When the former ran off with the Electro Gnosis, he was tasked with tracking and bringing him back – how could he, though? If it's what Scaramouche wants, he has no qualms about defecting the Fatui and accompanying him in his wandering. What could be more fun than that?
