Profile

Taharka was born into an affluent family, and the son of a powerful black market merchant and slave trader in the heart of Dalasias. As the only heir to his father's empire, he lived the majority of his early childhood sheltered and spoiled though with little in the ways of playmates. He formed a close bond with the eldest son of his father's bodyguard, Elohim, who was only just older than he.

It was only nearly two decades later that the now nineteen year old Nijal son broke free of his restrictive though lavish home environment to finally see more of Dala. Unfortunately, it wasn't as exciting as he had built himself up to believe and he wasn't terribly impressed with much except for the places of affluence and riches he was used to. He thus decided he was perfectly content living the life he had been living along with his father, his servants, Elohim, and now Elohim's younger brother Kamu.

Of course, now that he had decided he was content living the life of a rich spoiled brat, life's decided just as quickly to trip him up. Taharka's father was assassinated unexpectedly, and at the age of twenty with little world experience he inherited his father's legacy, and he had no idea what to do with it. Kamu and Elohim inherit their father's position shortly after his rise to power, and certainly not without need.

Time, mistakes along the way, and generally being less violent and less stringent with his money than his father eventually lead to he and a few of those lower down the chain to come to a mutual agreement to continue working. Taharka, as he learns, gains and implements his own contacts within the network and slowly trust flourishes as the underground prospers and expands under his command. This doesn't come without a price or without death threats, however, and he personally rarely leaves Dalasias, and has never crossed Dala's borders.

Some or most Dalan citizens, however, grow to trust him more than his father due to his more amicable personality and the goods he brings into Dala, illegal or not. Thus, he's occasionally seen in public conducting his own slave auctions, and may meet with big names to conduct trades in person though he is never, ever seen in public without Kamu and Elohim armed and close by. Within Dala he feels safe, even if it isn't necessarily the case.
