[CM] Abyssal

Early Years

Eventually she found other kids of similar age to themselves and after a rough introduction soon found a place in the little gang. Small, quiet, and quick on their feet, Abyssal took the role of pickpocket and thief, they were able to get close to unaware strangers, through buildings, and out of trouble with relative ease. Their dark blue colouration only enabled their hiding, and earned them the name Abyssal.

For years they ran with this gang, and in their teenage years got into more serious crimes, stealing cars, breaking and entering, and very rarely, mugging. It was the night of a local clubs live band night, that Abyssal and their friends stole a van parked outside, the back of the van was filled with various equipment and instruments, which they soon split between them.

Abyssal got an odd contraption, and after googling what the hell it was and how much they could get for it, they discovered it was a turntable. Digging through the rest of their loot, Abyssal found some records, and started experimenting, claiming to just try and figure out if it still worked. Aby was quickly getting invested over the days, loosing themselves in the music and enjoying the experimentation.

Their friends however were more interested in how much money could be made from it, and unimpressed with Abys playing around, and said as such. Unnerved by their aggression over something comparatively simple, Aby subtly began looking elsewhere for work, not easy when all they’d know was theft.

Reccent years

But eventually they found a bar that was hiring, The Vault was seedy and unappealing, but the manager there was a Yol of even fewer questions than Abyssal, and a MTT with just as many crimes on her own record. For a few years Abyssal worked alongside the pair, enjoying Ballista’s quiet company, and occasionally getting hauled along with Hurricane’s impulsive ideas, all while being able to play and create their own music.

And then The Vault’s owner dropped by, the Yol was far too clean for the bar, and while he spent most the time talking to Ballista, Abyssal was able to eavesdrop and learn more from Hurricane too. It became apparent that he, Cataclysm, owned a few more establishments, namely a club in the mid-levels, and a lounge bar in the upper level. Some more of their own research, and Abyssal learnt the club was in need of another DJ. Listening to their own impulsive urges, Aby applied, and after trying out, along with the fact they were already connected to Cataclysm, got the job.

It was during her time DJing at the club, that Hurricane dragged them along to a family Christmas party. It went about as well as Abyssal expected, gate-crashing an estranged family party, so Aby did what they do best, and attempted to become invisible. However the corner they tucked into to watch the sparks fly, was already occupied. Apparently a cousin, Moth, was just as eager to keep out the fracas, and while the pair didn’t exactly talk all night, the pair got on well enough to add one another on MTTbook.

Years went by, Aby making more and more friends through work, and somehow found themselves in a tightknit group of misfits. Ghost, Sammael, Sakura, and even Moth, soon found themselves spending a great deal of time together, eventually getting a place all together. It became Abyssal’s version of a family, all the support they’d needed when young, the care and love they’d missed out on in life. And while still quiet and soft spoken, Aby can’t help but feel a little overwhelmed with emotion at times, and is glad they finally have a family.
