Day/Dawn/Dusk is a guardian that perpetually lives in an existential blur. Though it appears to outsiders like she's attacking them- she's trying to scare them off or even help them, but she isn't coherent enough to relay that to them. She can have moments of clarity and calm, mostly- when she's left alone she's capable of remembering herself and her rational thought. . She tends to get riled up when others are there to speak to her or try and get past her. 

She is (or was) a confident and charismatic leader, and very wise. She was in her past power ambitious, driving herself to the bring of exhaustion in a desperate bid to be the hero of the people no matter the cost. Nowadays when lucid, she's remorseful of what she'd done, and despite her harrowing situation she knows she's earned it and doesn't hold any bitterness for the gods who did this to her. She accepts her punishment and does all in her power to turn away anyone who dares approach the gates as her new duty would decree. 

She is a beast of her own making, and she's very aware of it. The best of intends don't clear her name of the people she was willing to hurt along the way. 

Day/Dawn/Dust was formerly a military general known as Eventide. This general was a hero to the people, an icon among her followers, always confident and demanding something more for the innocents suffering under opressive rule. She was always willing to fight for the greater good, even if that meant sacrificing her relationship with her friends and her own children as she descended into madness, losing herself in her ambition to save the world and declaring full out war on the gods themselves. Determined to break down the gates to heaven to bring her people to eternal paradise by force.

She led the charge after many years spent tracking down such a mystical thing- a spell capable of taking them to the celestial gates; and tried to encourage her soldiers to attack. Naturally, the gods turned away the mortal army with ease.

In punishment for her brazenness, the goddess Serafina split her soul into three heads, cursing her to forever guard the gates of heaven from other would-be intruders. Now, she stays locked in her regrets, consoling only herself as she turns away those who would be as foolish as she once was, centuries ago.
