Hotaru is a Hokaido born currently living in Shizuoka, Japan. Growing up, his life has never been super interesting. His father passed away in an accident that he still doesn't know the details of and his mother is an incredible politian who as years went by was less at home. He still loves his family though and would try his best to be there for them even if they couldn't really be there for him. This really only applies to his family, with others if he were constantly left out, he'd likely hold a grudge on them which is why he tries his best to act as likable as he could be. Loneliness is what he hates most. As much as sometimes being happy-go-lucky is difficult, it's the only way he can really be accepted by others.

Therefore, he's constantly away from home. Usually hanging out with friends or even just by himself- he just wants to be anywhere but going to his lonely house. It somewhat relates to his aspirations as to why he wants to become a hero in the future. He doesn't want people to lose people they love or those they consider their one and only home to go to. He doesn't wish for people to have such a lonely and sad private life as he does, therefore he's going to try his best to make sure others don't fall in the same fate.
