Introduction

My spoilers keep breaking so I'll just dump what I got so far here. I'm an artist, not a code monkey, Jim.

Also, welcome to IDK what this is.
What EC's made of, and what went into making him.
He's  a lifetime of experiences, symbolism and personal growth and you may learn about yourself exploring further.
It's a bit of a whore to explain to people exactly what he is so I am hopeful to invest the time in this page once so its available in the future for anyone asking.

EC's created based on many philosophical and psychological ideas. Many have described a richness in what went into him that's not seen often enough in the fandom, and I hope you will enjoy the journey here. Get to know him, and something about yourself in the process.

Or just enjoy the pretty pictures - its up to you :3

Why this fursona and these animals?

The animals making up EC are very carefully selected.
Specifically I wanted a union of opposites, and one oddball that is both/neither.
So dog, cat, and mustelid, and then the specific breeds chosen from personal experience and watching my behaviours.
There is also a spiritual element reaching into the personal and collective unconscious:
Mix em together, and you'll have an EC.

Heterochromia in a Fluffmongrel is mark of maturity rather than an aesthetic appeal. Their eyes will change from a matching pair to a contrasting heterochromia as they age and gain more wisdom and life experiences.

For EC in particular, as an artist he creates things that shield our eyes from the horror of the real life and provides fantasy escapes, dreams come to reality. But he has also seen the horror and tragedy life has to offer, which is part of choosing to be an artist. To gaze into the abyss, and horror of things while simultaneously seeing the heights we can achieve or indulging in fantasy from time to time.

Nietzsche thought that art was the highest metaphysical task so that we don't die of the truth, yet also that the measure of a man was how much truth he could tolerate. Both are needed.

This also symbolizes the integrated shadow form. As a much younger pup, I had two forms of EC, a good one with blue eyes and an evil one with red eyes. This was a Jekyll and Hyde dynamic often seen in those with a repressed shadow.

Interestingly, the "red eyes" form was quite literally locked up in Hell with chains and everything. So instead of locking that up, the idea is to make friends with it and make it part of you so you can enjoy the benefits in your shadow.

(Left) The first forms of EC early 2000's with the persona illustrated to the left, the shadow to the right and the ego expressing itself in writing.

(Right) The more integrated, modern being. Integration is of course a lifelong process, but the differences from the first forms are quite staggering.

As a philosopher and one who has taken oath to always speak the truth, this also means EC eats red pills for breakfast. Will you join him?

The Philosophy of The Matrix

It was given to me by Death in a dream, many years ago in a dark depression. The designs have since been influenced by many life events and philosophical ideas before settling into its
current representation, most of which have their roots in Nietzschean ideas.
The roses were there from the beginning before settling into the Beast's symbolic enchanted rose.
Some symbolisms included serpents which eventually crystalized into the representative Ouroborus, and the eagle became the phoenix spiritual energy.
Thus Spake Zarathustra on Academy of Ideas |

The serpant and eagle were originally inspired by Nietzsche's Zarathustra, who went into solitude with his eagle and serpant. This was an early presentation of the unity of opposites.

Crafted from the cloth of his robes with symbols that reflect the internal state of the wearer.

Currently it displays"Amor Fati" on the right shoulder, the Yin-Yang englobed by the Ouroborus on the left shoulder, and the Beast's Enchanted Rose on the left sleeve.

Lightning and Hellfire represent the creative and destructive duality, the power to create our own heaven or Hell and how we choose to use that power.
Originally, as an "Electrocat" i was an unintegrated being with a creative drive, but no destructive force. These are shadow traits, which include the ability to say 'no' and act with integrity among otherprecious traits that werehidden in the dark side.

The lightning and hellfire look very cool in art and only used as representative. It is a spiritual force.

The Phoenix combines these energies into one in my much later interpretations.
The Ouroborus represents the cycle, and the power of the phoenix is of course to transform all you come in touch with, and be reborn better.

Directly connected to these alchemical ideas:
*The fire of destruction and fire of rebirth are one. (The phoenix)
*You can't be born anew if you have not first become ashes. (The phoenix)
This also means your waste becomes your food. You burn off traits that are of no use or help to you, and become a new person each iteration. This is the Ouroborus energy.
*As above, so below. With creation comes destruction or there is no balance.
* In sterquiliniis invenitur: In filth it will be found.
What you need most will be found where you least want to look, which is your dark side.
You are both the hero and the villain of your own story.

If you have a good look accross art, that is a Maslow's pyramid with a set amount of stitches.
It stays sewn up all the way these days to represent self actualization

The open chest would represent the lowest of needs unmet and is most often seen on the shadow / calcination form of EC

Sometimes I will invert the triangle and draw the philosopher's stone symbol on his hoodie, but we'll talk about that later.

Also, Maslow has a lot of my admiration, because where most people were into psychology and psychiatry to figure out what is wrong with people, Maslow wanted to know what is right with people and what makes them happy. What gives them meaning and purpose. So, now we have this amazing idea, and I love having that literally at the heart of my fursona.

Honey Badger experiences: I have survived an attack by a swarm of bees, and felt well enough to flirt with the nurses at the hospital.
