PROFILE

A travelling ronin. She lost her arm when she miraculously survived a duel with the Raiden Shogun. Now she travels to improve her swordfighting skill with one arm in hopes of challenging the Shogun again.

PERSONALITY

She appears very tough and serious, but she acts rather laid back and easygoing. Around her friends she'll act like a responsible older sister figure. She isn't used to a lot of affection so she can get very easily flustered as well. When in combat, you can see a more fiery angry side of her.

HISTORY

Shiori never knew her parents. She was an orphan without a name that lived on Yashiori Island. She used to steal food from the locals and cause a lot of trouble, but one day an old retired samurai caught her stealing. Instead of turning her in he told her "You should use your skills for something better" and then he took her in and trained her in the art of swordfighting. He named her Shiori, after the island. (He wasn't very creative) He became a father to Shiori and passed on all his knowledge to her

However it wouldn't last. The old samurai fell ill one day and passed away very suddenly. Shiori didn't take it well and left her home to throw herself into all sorts of fights, if only to serve as a distraction for her grief. She ended up joining a group of Nobushi and became a bandit for a short while.
Once the Vision Hunt Decree is delcared, she immediately rushes to Tenshukaku to challenge the Shogun.

THE DUEL & AFTERMATH

Witnesses to the event remember a young swordswoman—someone who didn't even have a vision—going up to Tenshukaku to challenge the Shogun on the Vision Hunt Decree. Her Excellency accepted the challenge and despite lacking a vision, the young swordswoman had put up a good fight until her blade was knocked out of her hands. Her Excellency deemed the duel over and struck the swordswoman with a bolt of lightning. Witnesses presume that the swordswoman is now dead.
When Shiori comes to, she's in an unknown room and in a lot of pain. She finds that she's now at the Grand Narukami Shrine. Her wounds had been patched up, however she had lost an arm in the duel. The Guuji Yae herself presents Shiori with a vision, declaring that it had been found beside her body. She spends a few months at the shrine, slowly recovering and adjusting to her lost limb. Her time there is spent in turmoil, trying to figure out what to do with herself now as well as figuring out the meaning behind her newly acquired vision. She eventually finds the resolve to leave Inazuma and travel, not only to see the world but also to train herself along the way to fight again.

RAIDEN SHOGUN

UNCERTAIN

Shiori has rather mixed feelings about the Shogun. Shiori challenges the idea of eternity. It's human nature to change after all. However she learns a little more about the Shogun from Yae Miko and can understand why the Shogun doesn't want things to change. Shiori still holds a bit of a grudge and can get a little irritated at the mention of the Shogun.

YAE MIKO

SAVIOR, FRIEND

Yae Miko was the one who rescued Shiori from the brink of death and helps her recover after the duel. She nudges Shiori along to her own path. She quite likes to tease Shiori a lot since its so easy to get her flustered. Shiori very casually just calls her Yae, which others may find disrespectful to the Guuji. Yae Miko herself doesn't really care because Shiori often makes her fried tofu.

HIRAWA SEI

CHILDHOOD FRIEND

Sei is the son of the local lord from Shiori's village. The two were close friends growing up and remain good friends to this day. Sei had witnessed Shiori's "death" at Tenshukaku. Shiori was unable to contact him during her recovery due to the risks it could pose, so he assumed she was truly dead. He soon fled Inazuma after turning in a fake vision and Shiori, once recovered, left to go find him. (Character by Sen Kaiko)
