A observer, never a participant, he watches from the sidelines, always present, always watching, but never percieved.

Personality

Once uptight and respectful, obedient to those above him, but aware that not many were. Distant and some would say uptight. Aware of the expectations set upon him by others and himself, striving to realize them, too afraid to disappoint them.

Now he simply does not care. Irreverent and cocky, he does not hold his tongue, about anything or anyone. He does not ask for respect and does not give it.

A life of schemes and fake smiles, petty betrayals and even pettier feuds, has left its mark, behind his smile hides a mind as sharp as a blade, able to perceive every fake smile, every lie. Sporting a silver tongue and a charming smile, he spins his web of pretty words and empty promises around you, like a spider preparing it’s meal.

Used to being perceived, his every action judged and weighed against him in a bid to make him perfect, now faced with the seeming inevitability of being forgotten over and over again, he will do anything to make himself noticed, remembered, fighting to keep himself from getting lost in the shadows of the perception of those around him.

History

  • the firstborn heir to a noble family, trained from a young age to take over one day, he grows up in a strict household with his every waking hour meticulously planned
  • he grows up to become what many would consider the perfect heir and son. Obedient and dedicated, focused entirely on continuing his family's legacy, loyal only to them
  • he buys a mysterious lute from a passing traveler, fascinated by it
  • almost immediately after buying the lute he starts to notice things shifting around him.
  • almost immediately after buying the lute he starts to notice things shifting around him.
  • as time passes the people around him seem unable to perceive him. Their eyes glaze over when they look directly at him and their gaze passes over him in confusion as if unable to understand his presence.
  • they don’t forget him, not entirely. But he seems to slowly fade from their lives.
  • one day, unable to bare the weight of his non existence he leaves, leaving everything behind, even the lute
  • he stays at an inn and the next morning he wakes up tasting flowers and blood and the lute besides his bed, leaning innocently against the wall
  • he tries everything, burning it, throwing it away, smashing it with a rock. The next day it’s always there leaning besides his bed, he cannot get rid of the taste of flowers and blood anymore
  • the first time he plays it is an accident. He trades stories with a child and for the first time in days does not taste blood and flowers
  • he moves on quickly, finding himself unable to stay any longer
  • he slowly grows into his powers unable to resist them and needing to survive
  • he travels Ivras now collecting stories and trying to find a way to break his curse (bulett points are temporary) WC:315

The unending story, the never ending song. Fable weaves the stories of others, stolen or freely given into an unending song, used to keep him alive and feed...something

Fable's magic is not entierly his own, his powers stemming from the lute to which he unwittingly bound himself. Using it as a conduit of sorts, he steals the stories told to him by others, weaving them into a larger, seemingly never ennding song. Each new story stolen and added will provide him with a certain amount of energy imperrative to keeping him alive.

At present he can only "steal" a story by being given explicit concent, which he usually achieves by offering a 1:1 trade, without stating the effects that will have on his victim. In the future and as his power grows, he will be able to remove a story forcefully and without the victim's knowledge although that will have an effect on the amount of power he gets from it.

After "collecting" his bounty and moving on Fable will slowly fade from his victims memory, leaving behind only a faint impression and the victim feeling weak and drained.

Costs

  • Magic permanently alters, stops, or replaces an essential function of the caster's body.Fable is unable to sleep or rest, food and drink can only sustain him temprarily and do not really fill him up
  • Magic use is painful for the caster.Unable to stay at one place for to long, Fable is always compeled to keep moving, trying to stay somewhere for extended amounts of time, will at first cause an unrelenting restlessnes that will gradually turn to pain the longer he resists it

  • Donec sagittis erat vel quam porta faucibu.
