Captain Felix Zanin

Growing up as an adopted child in the most rural area of Urthus, Felix lived his childhood alongside a lasting line of 'Dragonkeepers' who bred and raised Urthian Dragorak to be used as transport and advanced weaponry in the Urthian military. Felix, being a Dragorian (part-Dragon) himself, always seemed to have more of a connection with the dragons than any human could muster, and many members of his family speculate that that's the reason he was left outside of the ranch when he was just an infant. As he grew up he joined the military to train and work his way up the ranks, gaining notoriety for not only his magnificently trained dragons but also his professional-level combat ability. His standout act of heroism (which he rarely talks about) involved him delving deep into the vent of Mount Friega to rescue a group of injured geologists shortly before eruption, he died fatally but thankfully saved them. For a while he was presumed dead, his family was left in the dark, until one day the man mysteriously came back to life stronger than ever and suddenly invincible to physical damage. Upon his return to Urthian society, he was hailed as a medical and spiritual mystery and was promoted to Captain of the first division of Dragonriders. He himself never learns of the fact that his reincarnation is due to his role as Mirdinthal’s Holy Remnant, but grows suspicious that something is different about him when Sylvester enters his life, never fully establishing why Felix is quite so important to him.

After his death, Felix finds himself constantly battling with PTSD. Despite this he’s able to hold himself back enough to remain professional and disciplined on the battlefield. He’s cold and grumpy in the company of the other Citizens and tends to save his breakdowns for behind closed doors. He often feels overlooked in the Citizens’ flat team structure, feeling like a meat shield, but it’s the only way he feels he can express that he cares for the others - when Mint arrives on the scene she brings him out of his shell and helps him to become more like his old self.

Closed off and grumpy. Has an alcohol and (inconsistent) minor self-harm problem. He doesn’t like to talk and articulate his feelings to others. He’s judgemental and quick to form opinions. His primary PTSD trigger is enclosed, claustrophobic spaces due to the nature of his death, but he also hates hearing children scream and loud rumbling.

 Loves and is grateful for Urthian culture, he particularly loves sharing it as well as his knowledge of dragons with people. Really enjoys cooking and likes the idea of teaching others. Has a close bond with Sylvester. Falls in love with Mint.

- Felix and Adonis also live with Kelvar and Serian's extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, all of whom live on the dragon ranch together as the property is big enough to house them all. 

-Merdinthal's Blessing is a once in a lifetime spell-casting opportunity which allows peers to utilise the heavenly power of Merdinthal to revive a prematurely deceased individual, subsequently turning them into a magnificently strong, invincible super soldier. The only ways Felix can be killed thanks to this opportunity is to be beheaded, reach the end of the 100 year period for which the spell clings to its host or have the blessing forcibly taken from him using ancient incantations.
