Melanie has a bubbly personality that is bound to capture anyone's attention, including the likes of Niles of who she's been dating for the last three years. Mealnie works as a cashier at Candy's bakery while also playing video games and watching documentaries with Niles in her spare time. Melanie is one of Candy's best friends; she will ocassionally pplan girls' nights with her as well as Ming and Shannon to catch up on the tea going on in each others' lives. Melanie clashes somewhat with Shannon, not being the biggest fan of her cynical worldview but being a tad jealous of her high intellect. Only being a cashier at the bakery, she is thinking about college but is unsure what to pursue.

Melanie and Niles have been dating for the past 3 years; both of them met at Candy's bakery and fell in love with each other. Melanie can admire Niles' legal expertise and despite his strict demeanor as a lawyer, he's really a softie once you get to know him well. Melanie knows Niles' weak points best and knows how to persuade him to do what she wants (with no malicious intent).
Melanie was one of the first people hired to work at Candy's bakery, and Candy doesn't regret that decison one bit. Melanie lifts the bakery up with her bubbly personality which always keeps customers coming back for more. Melanie and Candy also have frequent girls' nights together.
Melanie and Cheston both work together at Candy's bakery to make it a better place. Melanie is the cashier, and Cheston is the Assistant Baker. Although both don't work behind the kitchen baking things, Melanie has still had a few solid conversations at work with Cheston and it makes time go by faster when the bakery isn't too busy on some days.
Melanie really isn't the biggest fan of Shannon and her cynical nature; Melanie will purposefully exclude Shannon from friend group activities out of spite which pisses Shannon off. Melanie is jealous of Shannon's intellect and wishes she was in a better spot career wise but is too indecisive about what exactly she should pursue.
