Creation:

Originally, Mary was only a small doll created for a child who adored nursery songs/stories. Treated quite well, she remained close to the girl as she grew up; adopting the kid’s styles as her tastes in fashion changed. As the years passed along, Mary’s human only grew more attached. In an attempt to bring her to life, a demon was accidentally summoned. The demon, a dollmaker in their own sense, did grant the doll’s body with a soul but did end up talking her away from the human.

The doll’s body - having become alive in a sense - had to be constructed with previously existing organs so she could actually function in daily life. Of which, were supplied by the demon themself. In addition to that, her size increased to somewhere around 5’8” (despite the demon’s distain for those taller than them) and her skin became soft and human-like in comparison to her originally porcelain skin; though she is much warmer than a normal human which was caused by one of the demons she’s constructed of. However, Mary struggles to properly walk as her mind doesn’t comprehend the sheep legs all that well. This causes many injuries for her, most obviously the gloves she wears being a means to hide the bruising. 

Now conscious, Mary knew absolutely nothing and felt lost aside from Wolfie; who she trusted on instinct because of the way they’d treated her. Over time, she encountered the feeling of pain. That pain promptly caused a crack to run through her face from the shock and discomfort… leading to… more pain and now blood! After being consoled, Mary and Wolfie found a secluded cottage for her to reside in - Wolfie even staying by her side long enough to assist with the cottage’s repairs (they do often check up on her though, just prefer letting her do her own thing).

PERSONALITY: 

Mary is EXTREMELY gullible. Being non-human and having very little experience with others aside for what she reads in books and magazines. Especially if the person is non-human, she would very likely trust them.

She tends to be a bit observant and commonly is mindful on her surroundings due to her fear of cracking. Even if she doesn’t know where the cracking comes from, Mary is terrified of death and is searching for a way to mend the cracks in her face and thigh. So far, no luck, though she’s dedicated.

While interacting with others, she tends to be on edge around people. However, with other supernaturals like half-animals and monsters, she’s more in her element and often invites people to tea parties.

She also gets lost often, where she has to interact with humans and ask for directions. If she asks to go to a train station, she’ll often follow the train tracks and not get on the actual train. This is because she believes that the train tracks will lead her back to her home. (Her cottage is near an abandoned track, so she just assumes as much.)

HOBBIES: 

Baking - While she isn’t actually much good at it, she believes herself to be a very talented pastry chef. She collects recipes from cook books and magazines in the nearby town. (where she much wear large boots and long skirts to hide her sheep legs). 

Reading - She adores children’s stories and songs as it was what she was given as a doll. Coincidentally, her favorite is Mary had a little lamb and she is so proud to share a name with Mary (not at all knowing that’s literally where her name came from). She aspires to write her own children stories and loves to write about the animals that live around her small cottage.

Sewing - She makes her own clothes! She collects her sewing patterns and ideas from the town as well (as like the Baking category). Of course, she struggles to make comfortable clothes for her legs, so she just doesn’t. She tends to go with leotards unless it’s an outfit for town; then she wears skirts.

Making her own clothes inspired her to take up another small hobby of drawing herself and the clothes she wants.
