Griffin Boltway

General
A kind man, he tries his hardest to stay positive.

Appearance
Griffin is tall and scrawny. He’s very pale with dark brown, almost reddish hair. His hair goes to his shoulders and is extremely straight and thin. He usually wears it pulled back. His face is long, he has droopy red eyes and a round nose that lifts up. He has broad shoulders, compared to the rest of his body, with little muscle.
He usually dresses very formally, he refuses to wear shirts if they aren’t button downs and only ever wears long pants.

Personality
Griffin is extremely social and outgoing. He tries to be considerate and open to people. When he first meets someone he’s very charming and humorous, he enjoys making others happy. But he keeps very few people close to him. His closest friends he has a very strong emotional attachment to. When he gets close to someone he displays his more neurotic side, he’s paranoid and worried constantly. He’s extremely anxious and is very good at covering it up, but sometimes it will get the best of him and he’ll lash out at others, being extremely apologetic after.
He isolates himself sometimes when he’s in a bad state, only those closest to him know about or seen these episodes he has.

History
Griffin was the first born son of Carter, the Governor of Tyfla. He was doted on by his mother and father, being the center of their world for years. His mother died when he was eight, and his father went into a deep depression and resorted to alcohol heavily after. Trying to get him out of his funk, the royal family tried introducing him to new women, and the first one seemed like a success, but it didn’t take long before Carter cheated on her and she left. Years and years after the cycle continued, and Griffin grew up watching his father’s former cheerfulness and light drain from him. Griffin, saddened by his father’s decline, focused on his studies to one day take the burden of Governor off his father’s shoulders. When he was an adult he already helped his father out with various tasks and is still working towards becoming the youngest Governor in the history of Voltrum.

Magic
Griffin has a very rare form of magic, only possible from elven decent, he has a combination of light and dark magic. While he isn’t very skilled in anything he can do some basic healing and can even make a pocket dimension to store some things. He mostly studied his light magic to be better at healing, and only studied enough to be considered a stable magic user.

Occupation/Schooling
Griffin is extremely well educated, he had some private tutors and some private schooling since he was a child, and worked hard and studied on his own as well. He excelled in his education because of his commitment to studying and learning.
While it’s not official, he considers his job to be an assistant for his father. He’s currently fighting some of his father’s peers to have him take his father’s position of governor, but the other governors are hesitant because of his age. But he still helps out in the office and talking positions and movements out with his father.

Interests/Hobbies
While Griffin doesn’t do much besides his work, he also enjoys reading for pleasure, though the books are usually nonfiction in nature, usually related to the economy of his and other countries. Besides that he also enjoys shooting for sport, he has developed a good aim through the years.

Relationships
Carter- His father, of whom he loves and cares for dearly. When he was younger he looked up to his father, but as his father’s mental state got worse and worse he began to pity him more than anything.
His Siblings- He has 4 half siblings, he doesn’t live with any of them and doesn’t know any of them that well either. He really doesn’t think much of them and views them all more of reminder of how his father is slowly slipping from reality.
