She's Muslim, and she kicks butt at being a jedi. Emala has a green lightsaber, and she mostly taught the younglings. She was the main Master to watch over the younglings, and definitely chose favorites but was fair in her judgement to all the younglings. She watched Obi-Wan closely, and was the one to recommend to Qui-Gon that Obi-Wan would be an amazing padawan for Qui-Gon. Obi-Wan somewhat sees her as the closest thing to a mother figure, and ends up coming to her with most of his problems. By the time that Anakin comes round, Emala states many times to Obi-Wan that sometimes the Jedi code needs to be disregarded with the form of attachments. She, personally, had a few significant others. She ends up managing to get out of the Temple while Order 66 was happening, and helped to lead younglings on through the path. Eventually, she manages to train Cal Kestis a little bit before he moves on down the path without her.
