About

6c92ab18_5605_4ada_80c8_0a5b1749e00a_by_

A young mandalorian warrior and medic raised by a (questionable) member of the death watch....

Despite their laid-back and confident personality doesn't speak much, as they were taught.

Their primary role is leading the mission by getting on the highest point for guiding and protecting the team as a sniper.

Although it makes them unable to do their secondary role as a medic on the battlefield, they always take care of any health-related issues outside of the mission.

Situation

  • Homeworld: Tatooine (the livlier parts suited for smugglers and dealers)
  • Current residence: traveling
  • Occupation: bounty hunter
  • Afflication: bounty hunter guild, crew Anooba

Family & relationships

  • foster sister: Kizem Keone (alive) - they have a very typical sibling-type relationship that could come off as being mean to each other for other, but they really need each others contact. When young, they helped each other with healing from trauma after terrible lives.
    Separated due to different ideals.
  • work partner: Maonn Felione (alive) - An unseparable duo. They tease and bully each other without a break - their friendship is very obi-ani like (without the master-student part).
  • "niece" & mechanic: San Shett (alive)
  • adoptive father - Karaat Keone (alive)
  • birth family: a family of doctors, also undercover spice dealers (both dead)

Character

Personality

They don't say much. Biological parents taught them that sharing as less info as possible is the most beneficial for them.
They open up to people they trust and even act a little sassy.

The atmosphere feels strange upon meeting them for the first time.

He makes every employer or co-worker feel welcome with his body language (doesn't talk much), but it's impossible to ignore the feeling of being analysed when talking to him.

This "fake" aura slowly dissapears when Kyu starts to trust someone. They speak more, even allows themself to be sassy, even a little flirty at times. They're the type to very much appreciate a good company.

Attention

As a battle medic, he always makes sure that their companions are in full health, but he hates the attention of others when he's injured. He always hides any injuries to treat them later, when he's alone.

Disliking attention also covers the topic of his interests, that's why he's always sneaky about things he enjoys.

For reasons unknown to him, he doesn't like it when people think of him as anything other than a battle companion.

That trait comes from their childhood - they had good heart and were always willing to help their parents, assuring them that they're always ready for it and that they don't have to worry about him in any way.

That's why they really like people with a big special interest and when they talk openly about it - he as a kid could never do that.

abilities (outside of combat)

  • medical abilities - because of their family, they grasped the basics of healthcare in a very young age, which gave them an easy start to future training
  • because of leading the anooba crew, they also have experience with battle strategy
  • cooking - as long as they have an access to fire, they can cook a good enough meal - even tend to carry a few spices in one of the bags in case they need to make something to eat in the wild. breakfasts are their favs because they can be the most creative with it
  • besides basic, can speak following languages: mando'a (secondary language), hutteese (fluent), jawaese (almost fluent), tusken (almost fluent) , durese (basic)

Likes

  • general art and culture, including sketching and music (when very bored they like to sketch ships, droids and other inventions), they sing in the shower btw
  • animals, especially small ones! highly respects annobas
  • communicating in different languages (mostly a flex thing)
  • stealth and disguise , especially detective missions
  • too easily trusts togrutas, so I guess togrutas

Dislikes

  • melee combat and general violence
  • is deeply scared of poison/getting poisoned and needles

Still working on the dislikes section lol

appearance

859f244d_c114_4f07_8c47_0e35d6790bb2_by_

basic info

  • height: 5'7" / 170 cm
  • skin color: medium (that's what the tone is called apparently)
  • hair color: ashy brown
  • eye color: jade green

general appearance

kyu cares a lot about their appearance, even if no one besides his sister sees them without their armor with their hair neatly trimmed and nice skin.

they have a medium, south asian-like (when compared to our universe, of course) skin tone with a few freckles under the eyes.
their hair is something between wavy and curly, in ashy, brown shade and is medium lenght - the front is shorter than the back, which looks a little like a wolf cut. back of their hair is often tied in a low ponytail.
they have green eyes in a jade shade.

kyu's silhouette is very similar to cobb vanth's - pretty skinny, but still muscled.

armor

They have a mandalorian gunslinger armor with the Anooba crew's signet on the armpiece. It has multiple little bags attached to belts and clothing, used for storing medicine and medical devices.

Their most characteristic feature is the helmet - it has a caramel-colored visor and same antennas as Pre Visla to extend the range of their communicator, except they have a protective cover in the shape of anooba ears. The ridge isn't flat - it has an additional spoiler piece.

Their clothing includes a lot of materials like scarfs. One of them is very long, reaching more than to their knees and tied by the belt to resemble an anooba tail. The second one is big enough to hang on their shoulders and cover the right arm that needs better protection from the sun - it's more sensitive to injuries. They also have a kama (the pieces of cloth from the belt covering their hips) and a jetpack attached on their back, plus two ring blades on its sides.

Combat

combat style

Ranged, focused on sniping from close or afar.

They heavily dislike (and are not very good at) melee combat, so they turn to it only in emergency cases. That's why they have a wide range of weaponry prepared for that kind of situation - like ring blades.

Their combat abilities aren't as wide, but they're able to complete the mission if hidden (feeling most comfortable with sniping) and eaisly protect themself if it ever comes down to close combat, thanks to ring blades.

„Safety comes second when the money is in charge.”

When working alone, their strategy is complitely different than working in a group.

Although they prefer to avoid direct combat, they often use other methods that can even come up as brutal and risky to others, but if anyone sees them during action, it's hard to not call them even genious.

It's not hard to see how well Kyu handles and controls the situation, and almost perfectly recovers if something doesn't go according to plan.

They really care about money, so they don't refuse to take any well payed missions, even if they include ideals they don't agree with. They're aware of their strenght in strategy, so they know that they have a lot of different methods of completion.

combat abilities

  • marksmanship, especially with double blasters
  • ringbladesmanship??
  • basic hand-to-hand combat abilities (very weak)
  • sniping abilities
  • jetpack usage

equipment

  • Kom'rk-class mark 3 ship (named vulture)
  • mandalorian armor with sniping modifications on the helmet, also Anooba signet on the right shoulder
  • small blaster usually used by death watch - DE-10 blaster pistol
  • ring blades
  • jetpack
  • IQA-11 sning blaster rifle
  • flamethrower (right)
  • small missle in the sleeve (left)
  • tons of medical equipment and meds (in the pouch bags)

Backstory

Early life

They were raised in a family of medics-chemists, claiming to be only medics to avoid llegal consequences but in reality were making and selling substances modifying human body - mostly illegal medicine, but also drugs or poison.

Ever since their child was born, they made it engage in labour ever since it was possible. The kid was taught to help their parents and hide the evidence - that's how it managed to learn about different effects on human body from a very young age. They were deeply interested in art, but medicine was their top priority because of their will to help their parents.

At the age of 6, their parents were killed - everyone saw it coming due to different people wanting to claim the valuable substances.

He was adopted by Karaat - a questionable "child of the watch" because to his story - after he found them when investigating the crime area because of his mission, and raised with the new father making sure to develop their already great medical abilities. They were raised with a girl they later considered an adopted sister - Kizem.

They became a bounty hunter. Two years of experience after turning 18 didn't teach them one thing properly: no questions asked. Unless it affects you, you don't wanna know.

Bounty hunting

Their most payed mission was the one that they got too interested in because of how dark it was.

The employer took his chance and used them as a distraction for their serious enemies. Kyu has been stalked, then at some point even tortured for information that they were given, the poison used causing a serious right arm injury. It spread and was about to get him killed - he was left for dead, untill he was found by a peaceful togrutan colony - Artisan colony.

He was assumed killed by the people that wanted the information (the rumor spread, which caused him being assumed dead in most systems). They took him under their care for a year, untill the arm recovered complitely - in exchange he offered them protection and safety, because the colony didn't practice brutal acts.

They taught him how to use his left hand and after the complete recovery, showed him their ancient ritual weapon for both hands in gratefullness of protection. That's why he's capable of using his both hands equally good in combat.

"What are those weapons?" - stranger asked, their eyes analysing the mandalorian's gear. "They look so unpractical."

"They weren't forged to kill." - mandalorian answered after a pause, not looking at the interlocutor.

"It's a ritual weapon." They took one of the blades in left hand, carefully sliding their fingers through it.

"It's meant to protect the weilder."

Even though the Togrutas stated that it's okay for him to use the Ring Blades, something inside of him felt guilty about using their ritual weapon and hand-to-hand techniques for violence.
From then, he started preferring ranged weapons, and using melee combat in emergencies.

With time, this feeling slowly grew to an impostor syndrome of some sorts:
On one hand, he's a Mandalorian who deeply cares about his culture, so he wants to be the most devoted to him he can.
But on the other hand, how can he be a picture-perfect warrior if his heart absorbed some of the peaceful traditions?
He knows well that things such as art are embraced in mandalorian religion as well, but not living up to expectations he set for himself was making him feel like he's not enough to be one of his people, the warriors he so looks up to.

7 years after the battle of Yavin formed the Anooba crew with his sister (and her droid apparently) after reuniting, and a bounty hunter he started co-working with - a force-sensitive (but untrained) female farghul. The siblings had to separatedue to different ideals - Kizem started protecting people and participatibg in resistance, while Kyu and Maonn stayed bounty hunters.

At some point, the young Mandalorian met his old employer - the same one that used him as a distraction for his buisness. He revealed that his men, "his" because it turned out to be a bigger scheme, took off his armor when he was unconcious, which only deepened his impostor syndrome. He didn't know if it was true or not, but something inside of him didn't feel like a Mando anymore, as he was raised with "no helmet removal" rule. He didn't tell anyone from fear - his decision making in this case feels... paralysed. He knows he needs to do something, but he needs help he's too terrified to get.
