Poppy

Poppy often appears rather bubbly and sweet at first, just a little ray of sunshine bringing smiles to the faces of those around her. Her wide golden eyes seem to catch every little move of the pelunians by her side, spotting little quirks and reading what they mean almost immediately. She seems considerate, to the point it might even be to her own detriment. Those that believe they're close to her worry about how little she seems to care for herself in comparison to her friends.

She knows better than that, however. Some things aren't what they appear to be, and the red panda knows that all too well. Her smile may reach her eyes, but the light behind them isn't in consideration of her peers. No, it's for what they have, what she could take right from under their noses. If she bats her eyes just so, tilts her head a little more, she can get whatever she wants, and keep her "friends" close to her the entire time.

Poppy has a love for all things that shine, but she's aware of the fact that some of the most expensive things in life can't be held in her paws. A whisper here, a rumor there, and she could guarantee her own stability for months, perhaps even with someone who'd listen to her every word. If someone tried to take from her, all she'd need to do is bring on the waterworks, and she'd have a mob after the unfortunate sap in seconds.

She may seem like an expert in her field, a thief and a manipulator pulling the strings behind many influental pelunians to get exactly what she wants. However, deep down, there's a hurt that continues to gnaw at her. She can take whatever she wants, sweet talk anyone into giving her whatever her heart desires, but she's always afraid of the day they simply turn away from her. She still remembers the one pelunian who didn't stay, who left her behind in poverty without a single goodbye. It keeps her up at night sometimes, just wondering what would've happened if her brother had included her in his plans. She does everything she can to keep others from leaving her behind.
