Cavernshine

Cavernshine is a medicine cat of ThunderClan. She is the daughter of Wolftail and Breezemoon and was born alongside her siblings, Emberleap and Hyenatuft. She became a medicine cat apprentice, trained by her uncle Spicewhisker, and eventually earned her place as a full medicine cat.

"Hello, Gingerpaw! It’s great to see you. How’s your training going? Yesterday I chewed a poultice of horsetail for the first time! It didn’t taste great, but Chillwhisker felt much better. He scraped his shoulder on a thorn bush while training with Hyenapaw. Oh, Hyenapaw is my brother! Did I mention that?"

Cavernshine is very friendly, cheerful, and optimistic. She can be very talkative, but the cats who know her well are used to it and find it more amusing than annoying.

Kithood

Cavernkit is born in ThunderClan to Wolftail and Breezemoon alongside her siblings, Hyenakit and Emberkit.

Apprenticeship

Cavernpaw becomes a medicine cat apprentice, mentored by her uncle Spicewhisker.

Cavernpaw is with Spicewhisker by the ShadowClan border collecting dock leaves for Webfur's sore pads. She brightly begins conversing with Autumnpaw and is disappointed when Spicewhisker cuts the conversation short, subtly reminding her not to be so open with cats in other Clans. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 4)

Cavernpaw is gazing up at the stars as though intrigued by them. She brightly greets Gingerpaw and tells him how yesterday she chewed a poultice of horsetail for the first time. It didn’t taste great, but Chillwhisker felt much better. She goes on to add that Chillwhisker's apprentice, Hyenapaw, is her brother. After Gingerpaw tells her about Hazelfrost's cough, she's alarmed and hopes it's not greencough or whitecough, asking if he has catmint. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 6)

Cavernpaw hesitantly and curiously asks Gingerpaw if he sees his kin when he dreams with StarClan, aware he wasn't born in WindClan. She adds that when she dreams in StarClan, she sees her grandparents. After the meeting, she says goodbye to Gingerpaw and hopes Hazelfrost's cough gets better. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 6)

At the gathering, Sagefern is watching Cavernpaw bounce around excitedly. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 7)

Medicine Cat

Cavernshine tells the other medicine cats that Oakstripe died saving his kits, and they chose warrior names in honor of him. She's shocked to hear some cat put deathberry seeds in juniper berries, saying that's evil. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 18)

At the gathering, Cavernshine greets Gingerfrost. She gasps when he tells her Dewstorm has died. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 25)

Cavernshine reveals that Spicewhisker is dead as she staggers over to Strawberrystar's body. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 28)

After the battle against Rosemary, in the RiverClan camp, Cavernshine gives coltsfoot to Smokewhisker. A few days later at the gathering, she is still mourning the loss of Spicewhisker. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 29)
