Nui has been through many difficult situations in life but hasn't given up on living. He adores music and singing but he lost his ability to speak in his teens. Refusing to give up on something he holds dear, Nui began to write songs as a way to make himself heard to the world.
Whenever people first meet Nui, their immediate thought is that they need to protect him. Nui is very pure, as in he sees more good in the world rather than bad. This doesn't mean he's naive, he just believes that there are good things and doesn't dwell on the bad. As a result, he comes off as vulnerable and air-headed to people who don't know him very well. Those who get to know him will realize that he has a strong spirit and is kind despite all his traumas.

Trivia
- Nui loves to be spoiled but has a hard time accepting kind gestures from others.
- He hates it when his clothes are too tight and when his bedding isn't fluffy enough.
- Nui puts all of his emotions into his songwriting and lyrics since he can't express them verbally.

Nui and Kuro met due to Nui writing a couple songs for the band that Kuro is in. Kuro is very perceptive of peoples' emotions so he's able to understand Nui better than others.
