Luma

Luma is a high-strung bagbean from the middle of Griffia. She lived quite the typical / middle-class life, as she was raised by her two parents and lived comfortably with them. However, the little bagbean was always passionate about two things as she grew up: food and writing. Initially, becoming a chef was Luma's dream, but after countless disastrous dishes and continual frustration, Luma made it her goal to become a food reviewer for the biggest newspaper in all of Griffia. While she was still in high school, she began to write reviews on all of the local restaurants in her area, and this practice landed her a spot in the one of the country's most prestigious journalism schools. Luma's skills, however, were put to the test while in college; many professors didn't appreciate her writing style and scoffed at her passion for food over more important news. When it came time to graduate, Luma wasn't able to a job in food reviewing. Instead, she ended up working as a travelling advertiser for her parents' spa until she was able to land a writing job. While traveling the country, humiliated and demoralized as she dressed in advertising garb, Luma made a working list of all of the unique restaurants she ran into in hopes of trying them all someday, once she made enough to eat at all of them, that is. Along her traveling route, she kept running into a familiar face who was also traveling the country peddling his wares: Andy the Perfaunt. At first, Luma fell head-over-heals for the Faunt who shared her same affinity for Avocados, but as they continued to run into each other along the way, she grew to resent Andy because of his carefree attitude and his ability to forgo responsibility and comfort in order to pursue his dreams. His unconditional optimism and happiness drove Luma nuts. Eventually, Luma made her way back home, where she finally found a job offer waiting for her. It was out in the boonies and not strictly food-writing, but Luma was sick of traveling around. She accepted the job and moved to the outskirts of Cowpea, and soon ran into her old crush, Andy. Now, all she wants to do is bide her time and find a great scoop that could catapult her out of this situation. Oh, and I'm sure she'd love to punch Andy and his cute girlfriend in the face too....
