PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION

eccentric is one word that comes to mind when thinking about psi. she sure as shit is eccentric, no denying that! she's extremely cheerful in demeanor, wildly hyperactive to the point of running around in circles to burn off her excess energy, and appears to love nothing more than having fun. of course, her idea of fun can often be scary and horrifying to others. she loves bloodshed, can't get enough when it comes to crushing heretics. blowing them up? her favourite! spilling their blood all over her freshly cleaned clothes? amazing, fantastic, she couldn't ask for something more entertaining, truly!

she is, ultimately, wildly disconnected from reality. it often seems like she isn't all there, and that would be true. she toes the line between being in a dream like reality of her own psychosis, and trudging along through the grim reality of everyday life on the mourningstar. aformentioned disconnect is how she's survived this long without a mental break that will totally ruin her, able to come across oblivious to the horrors she and her fellow rejects face every day. where you're having an awful time fighting for your life, psi is rushing into the fray, giggling all the while.

while actions are frequently unpredictable and manic, there's no denying just how well trained she is. being used and abused by the inquisition for the vast majority of her life has made her into an obident lap dog. anything they ask of her, she is willing to do. she has opinions of her own, yes, but they mean virtually nothing considering she will not argue on their side when given a direction that goes against them. no order will ever be taken into question, no task too much for her to handle. psi is loyal to her final breath, more than happy to put her life on the line over and over if it means getting told she'd done good for her masters.

though this may come as a shock to some who observe her on the battlefield, or from afar, she's a genuine kindly soul. while the inquisition may have made her into something truly abhuman, emotions remain. she's a giddy little thing, enthusiastic and always attempting to encourage her comrades when they falter. she's a damned good friend, risking hide and life alike to keep even the most insufferable of teammates alive. her positive attitude can be insufferable at times, or downright disturbing - mainly when she keeps it up for retellings of her horrific past, grin on her lips as she recounts awful abuses done to her.

this factors into how oblivious she truly is. having spent a massive chunk of her life confined and kept away from others, it should be of no surprise that she is unaware of what is morally right and what is morally wrong. she sees past abuses from the inquisitor who broke her as nothing more than training exercises, unaware that this behaviour was utterly monstrous. she holds him in high regard, and believes being treated that way is simply the norm. psi is also painfully gullible, falling for just about anything you could throw at her. sarcasm goes right over her head, will generally respond to it in a very literal manner. it's something she's never been exposed to previously.

HEALTH & LIFESTYLE

DIET: gets likely the least gruel of anyone on the mourningstar. they don't see a need to feed her often, considering she's already a runt.

EXERCISE: lots, and still not enough. psi is very hyperactive, and will generally run laps given the immediate chance. she likes to book it in circles around people while they're trying to have a conversation. bothersome, but harmless, and burns some of that excessive energy she has.

SLEEP: something psi struggles with greatly. when not awoken by nightmares, she can't always get the warp to be quiet, cause for her to doze off for one, maybe two hours if she's lucky.

HYGIENE: could .. be better. she's generally covered in blood, and stinks of something rotten. they cruelly hose her down instead of allowing her the chance to shower on her own. gets the job done, nonetheless.

HISTORY OF PHYSICAL ILLNESS

psi was born premature, and has never truly grown out of her runt stage. she is very small in stature, and will generally be underweight at any given time.


SCARS: her entire body is heavily burn scarred, head to toe. they vary from 3rd to 4th degree burn damage, and are a mixture of keloid, hypertrophic, and contracture scars. she is also missing multiple fingers; specifically a pinkie on the left, and middle and pinkie on the right.

STRENGTHS

psi is a tremendously powerful psyker with profound control over the warp. her arsenal of psychic abilities varies widely, holds no set discipline. she can do things such a read minds, twist metal with a thought, predict weapon paths, gain knowledge from voices within the warp itself. if you're looking for the more violent side of the spectrum, it's probably where she shines the most. she's capable of harnessing elements such as lightning or fire, frying her opponents alive. she can crush skulls with a clench of her fist, and haemorrhage organs does she so choose to. she can throw opponents back with a shout, or shatter their mental fortitude with focused ringing into their head. this is but a taste, really. you're better off not fighting her.

she exhibits what you could consider an unrelenting will. knocking psi down only causes her to get back up. wounding the woman only makes her struggle back to her feet so fight may continue. bullets don't stop her, broken bones don't hinder her. she'll crawl her way through a mission until she legitimately no longer can.


WEAKNESSES

psi is a broken and beaten dog. she exhibits almost no will of her own, and does anything and everything she is told to do. controlling and manipulating her is embarrassingly easy, and the inquisition has her under their heel. despite how they've treated her, she would never revolt against them.

included alongside this, she is affirmation seeking. any amount of affection or attention you could possibly show her will immediately be seen as a blessing, and you'll nigh instantaneously have her under your control. she'd do anything for you if it meant getting an acknowledging pat upon the head.

overclocking her abilities, while possible for a time, will lead psi to become progressively more disonnected from reality. she will also become more and more exhausted until she either collapses or reaches such a delusional state she's no longer able to function in a meaningful way, must shut down and try to calm the warp. she'll recover, but it takes time, and this can happen on the battlefield if she isn't careful.


FLAWS

extremely naive to the world around her. she's been trained and conditioned for the last decade for specific tasks and working in a specific unit.

wildly unstable. she is constantly teetering on the very thin line between lucidity and being utterly disconnected from reality. when not walking it, she will dip into one more over the other, and knowing when this will occur or what will cause it is basically impossible. she's a loose cannon in that sense.

pissing off psi, especially in a meaningful way, is almost impossible. nothing you can do really appears to bother her, and she'll only step in to make you stop a behaviour if you're annoying someone else with it. seriously, watch out, don't hog the ammo or anything because if she hears someone complain, she'll likely just blow up your head to satiate them.

it would appear that psi has none of her own. she's stuck in a loop of everything she does being for the benefit of those who hold her leash, and is only now starting to learn there may be more to life than that.

she doesn't have her own, despite fulfilling orders from the inquisition to purge xenos and heretics alike at their hatred for them. on her own terms, psi is perfectly fine with everyone.

muddied and skewed at best. psi has absolutely no problem killing anyone or anything at the drop of a hat, and clearly takes great delight in the bloodshed she causes. she's constantly encouraging others on her team to partake alongside her if they ever waver, and calls their mission outings to slaughter the heretics .. fun! she's having fun, anyway. despite all of this, she does have what you could call morals. basic, yes, but she does have them. she is human. she doesn't enjoy killing animals, people who are ultimately innocent, or harming children. these are things she will only do if ordered to, or something she's forced to do so others can be protected. she will not argue with what is asked of her.


HISTORY OF MENTAL ILLNESS

psi suffers from psychosis, often viewing the world in a different way than those around her. this is from a mass amount of endured trauma over the years, an unhealthy way for her to cope with what she was dealing with. she is also hypersexual, and has an excessive urge to seek out sexual gratification. it's heightened by her desperation to please, desperate for affection in any shape or form.


TRIGGERS: things involving fire. auditory cues specifically, like the repeated clicking of a gas stove about to light, or the crackling of flames. she generally won't spring into a panic, though this response is possible, but there will be a noticible flinch in her generally giddy demeanor or a want to leave the area.

BIRTHPLACE: a planet by the name of mornax. an imperium mining world known for its harsh living conditions that often produce weary, hardened citizens.

ENVIRONMENT: minimalist and basic. they give her nothing more than a cot to sleep on and a toilet to use. she doesn't even get to experience the warm joy of a blanket.


OVERALL HISTORY

born on the mining world of mornax, it’s safe to say that psi has never truly been given a chance at life. with a father shipped off to join the guard, and a mother who could not afford to care for her, she was relinquished to one of the planet’s orphanages. this case is not a special one, hellish conditions and a dour population leading to many a none existent home life. all of these children must be cared for and fed, leading those who run the orphanage’s to consistently strike deals with business moguls. was upkeep thoroughly paid for, they would be paid in a variety of labour. considering the children had no other options going for them, there’s no plausible way for them to have said no.

made to pay for her keep, psi is sent to the mines as a tunnel sentry once old enough. she’d always been a runty thing, smaller than the pack and considerably more feeble in size. this worked perfectly for the task of crawling about tight confines, something adults were simply unable to. she was tasked with wriggling into unreachable portions of caverns, reporting back on the other side’s conditions. this serves as one of the more dangerous jobs handed off to the orphans, psi still able to recall just how many kids she’d grown to know had died to cave - ins, or been wounded so grievously they could no longer be of use to anyone.

her service in this department would have likely lasted indefinitely into adulthood, did she not hit eleventh birthday. it’s at this point that she has the abhorred psychic awakening, shockingly young for a psyker to be made aware of their power. it starts coming to her simple enough, whispers that she can’t quite place and voices she doesn’t recognise while no mouths move around her. this frightens her for some time, fears she may be going mad, had been read stories by horrid caregivers about happened to those who lost their minds. sent to the black ships, stripped of their very soul to feed the astronomican.

this is a concept that haunts her, only quelled from it when she comes to realisation that these voices mean her no harm. in fact, they inform her of things she hadn’t known previously. that she was no mere child, that she held the ability to channel the warp in her very hands. while what this all means may be beyond her youthful mind, it does cause her to experience genuine excitement. there hadn’t been much in her life up to this point to call for such exhilaration, can’t recall an instance prior in which she’d ever felt this way.

one of the voices calls these abilities magic tricks. it’s easier for her to digest in a way she can understand, made her open and willing to honing them. what interested her above all others was the chance to conjure flame in her palm. mornax often grew cold and dark, psi endeared to the simple thought of staying warm. it made her feel safe, like a torch was always at her disposal. there’s no need to fear the dark when you held its single counter.

of course, she was but a child. what child could keep such amazing feats to themselves? she’d always wanted a way to bond with those around her, generally too overworked in the mines to have the energy to try. psychic powers invigorated new life into her, cause for her to reach out to peers in ways that she’d never tried previously.

naturally, this works in her favour. partially, anyway. who didn’t want to see a magic trick? most she showed would clap and cheer for more, asked to hold her hands and feel the heat once flame dissipated. they asked of what else she could do, how much she was able to pull off.

in turn, the older crowd of teens find themselves put off by her. unlike those younger, they know better; begin to ignore her, treat her like some manner of disgusting outcast. it isn’t long until someone decides to snitch, administrator wishing to have a word with her. it’s in the man’s office that she is faced with reality of her situation - the one where she is no magician, but an undocumented psyker. that’s a term she’s aware of, had endured enough education to know what that means for her. even now, in this moment, she notes a change in the director’s voice. he speaks of her, not at her. this was no longer a child to him, but a thing. a thing that must be locked up, taken away, and disposed of.

as she’d been fretting but a few weeks ago, she’s threatened with relocation to the black ships. she cries, and begs, and pleads for the admin to spare her the fate. her wibbling means little, and she isn’t even spared final glance before staff is ordered to keep her under lock and key until he could reach imperium contact.

they sanction her to a dingy supply closet. she spends the first few hours inside banging upon the door, wailing to be let out. she does this ‘til her throat is raw, so tired she can do nothing but sink to the floor. various voices attempt to comfort her, louder than they’d ever been prior. she’s vulnerable, and the warp is aware. one is asking how badly she wishes to leave this room, and psi sniffles that she wants nothing more. it encourages her to fight back, and the girl chokes that she can’t do that. it continues to stir, reminding her that fire is for far more than just warming one’s hands.

seeing how no other options present themselves, psi does as she’s told. in a considerably panicked state, she strikes. hole is melted in the metal door keeping her trapped, scrambles out and flees for the halls. she likely knows them better than an employee would, had spent the last decade of her life here. when one of the aforementioned adults starts screaming after her, she just keeps running.

haplessly, in the end. the orphanage isn’t headed by dolts, had already gone about blocking the entrance to prevent her from escaping. she’s simply drug elsewhere in the building, kicking and screaming as if it’ll force them to change their minds. even those who’d grown up with her thus far show no shame in what they’re doing, more than happy to sacrifice her for the good of the emperor.

it’s an inquisitor who comes to speak with her. a scary lot, even child keenly aware of the danger she was in by standing here. they hold no mercy in their hearts, known for slaughtering anyone or anything that is a threat to the emperor of mankind. psi had been told once that witch hunters were the worst of the worst, so dead set on stomping out their fellow man that their chests were hollow of feeling.

this woman, however, speaks to her kindly. it’s as if she’d interacted with kids before, knows exactly what to say. she’s able to bring down psi’s defences, to get her talking about what’d been happening this past month. the sudden presentation of powers, of voices in her head. even now, they whisper, telling her not to trust this one. while she’d heeded their word before, she fears doing so now. she doesn’t wish to die here.

with her psi is made to go. she unwillingly must leave everything behind, depart from mornax for the first time in her life while donned in handcuffs. while it isn’t how she envisioned leaving the planet, it’s likely better than dead. this is decidedly up for debate.

from this point on, nothing is explained to her. inquisitor makes it clear her personality back in the orphanage was nothing more than a rouse to get information, won’t even bother to look at the child once they reach destination. what that is, psi couldn’t have said, seeing how they’d gone through great lengths to hide it from her. bag over the head, ushered into what she later learns is a psychic dampener cell. even then, the warp speaks to her. it forewarns her, tells her that she must get out of here.

she’s earmarked with a subject tag, like some type of animal. 653 / 492 / psi. this isn’t something they tell her, child able to infer from the often muffled talk outside her cell. inquisition then begins running tests on her - these range from wanting to see what powers she displays, to cutting themselves a piece of flesh to see if it’d net them anything interesting upon inspection.

the longer she stays in their custody, the more her abilities grow. the only company she has is the warp and the voices that inhabit it, begins to speak aloud with them after a constant year of solitude. even her own voice sounds foreign at that point, only ever heard it during sessions with inquisitors.

testing is beginning to prove off the charts. she’s able to melt minds with thoughts alone, twist and snap steel by simply focusing on it. even to psi, it’s obvious that she’s powerful. well, this she knows from intruding the brains of others. while permission had not been given, it wasn’t as if they were asking for hers. they fear her, find this shocking level of ability to be disturbing. they’re unsure what to do with her yet, even hears in the subconscious of one that he fears they may not be able to contain her forever.

what they are able to do is contain her for yet another year. so psi thinks, anyway. her ability to tell time is skewed at best, horribly unreliable. she’s starting to forget how old she is, and when her birthday was. they never wish to talk about such things, only ever looking for more displays of her warp potential. she’s come to conclusion in her that it’s never going to end. they have yet to kill her, they have yet to strip her soul for the astronomican. there was nothing left but this.

that is, until they start using her for things. how old was she now - fifteen? sixteen? she doesn’t know, and nobody was keeping track for her. this doesn’t matter to an inquisitor by the name of mauger who wishes to take her on as a retainer - against the words of his fellow man, brothers and sisters insistent that she was much too dangerous to be trusted on field work. this is a sentiment that he agrees with; and seeks to break her first.

what he wants is a dog, one who will bark and bite at his every command. what he gets is what he made - an abused, violent creature. he teaches psi what it’s like to really suffer. fingers are broken on a constant, repeated loop, senses are depraved of and returned again and again, her meagre meals of gruel taken away for days at a clip, trapped in shackles nearly every minute that would earn her a beating did she dare break herself free. all of it, training exercises. he wants her resolve gone, wants her to long for nothing.

more time passes. this is ultimately what becomes of her, an erratic success. psi is unpredictable and wild, yet appears grossly obedient to the inquisitor who broke what spirit she had left. she’d unlearned what it meant to be human, to be treated like an equal being. she’s nothing but a tool to them, a weapon of malleable mass destruction.

it’s only then does mauger truly accept her as a member of his retinue, frees her from the cell that’d been home for the last several years. while this would have been her first real chance to fight back, to flee, to get revenge - psi does no such thing. manic and hysterical as the girl was, she follows at inquisitor’s heel like the loyal pup he sought.

she’s the perfected heretic killing machine. they’d show, and targets would be wiped in mere minutes. be they fellow psykers, mutants, the entirety of an underbelly genestealer cult. anything you placed before psi she could likely slaughter with ease, took great pleasure in the task at hand. the stench of burnt flesh as she flamed them alive, the horrified final expressions that paint their faces before skulls are burst. it’s all a rush to her.

it grows increasingly transparent that she’s continually overextending. yet, the inquisition has no fear of possession. deep into the warp as psi was, demonic influence has no hold on her. blood pouring from her ears, dribbling down her chin and stinking up her nostrils. mauger continues demanding more and more of her, and psi never denies the man. her vision grows spottier and spottier, and her favourite voice of the lot tries dissuading her. it begs psyker to think for herself, to layoff the nigh constant overclocking of her powers. even she had her limits, and the warp was going to reveal them.

vision grows dimmer, and dimmer, until psi finds she can no longer see. this, a minor setback. she would never allow such a thing to hinder her entirely. inquisitor even questions her worth after this, wonders if she was going to become little more than a liability. of course, it’s clear he only says this to rile her further, to keep her quality streak of hard work going. she falls easy for manipulative tactic, intent on proving her use tenfold.

it’s in this desperate haste she finds herself tripping up. she ignores the continued warnings blared into her skull, reaches further and further into the warp for more and more power. there’s pleading for her to stop, begging, crying, screaming - agonised, wailed screams that drone out everything else. this time, they aren’t in her head. they belong to her, the warp decidedly pushing back. heart is throbbing so painfully psi swears she can hear the popping of blood vessels in her ears, that telltale wet drip.

the usual fire she’s capable of harnessing finds itself engulfing way up her arm. the instance is so quick, there’s nothing she can do about it. the warp pushes back against her greedy usage, decidedly envelops her entirely in the flames she’s so fond of. all psi can do in the moment is scream, each painful inch of her body burning alive. that stink of smouldering flesh she knows so well is now her own, collapses to her knees, screeches for it to be over. the warp doesn’t give up so easy, wants it to hurt, for her to stay conscious through every excruciating second.

this is a fire that needs no extinguisher, puts itself out when done and ready. it leaves her a screaming mess, disfigured beyond basic recognition. psi can’t even pick herself up off the ground, grossly sizzled skin melted against the dirt. it’s mauger who must come to her rescue, orders remaining members of his retinue to take her back for medical treatment - once their job here is done.

there she’s made to lay, a shaking, whimpering thing. beloved voice tries to comfort her as it always does, but psi is not listening. she’s elsewhere, muttering to herself in some hopeless attempt to distract from the suffering. nothing helps. she can’t even blink. she isn’t sure she has eyelids any longer.

she’s eventually recovered, returned home for care. it’s the most jarringly cognitive she’s been in years, croakingly begs for them to put her out of her misery. naturally, the inquisition will be doing no such thing, psi too valuable an asset to them. she feels as if she’s suffering another wave of their torture all over again, made to endure hours and hours of poking and prodding.

it’s back into the cell she goes while recuperating. she couldn’t have possibly asked for anything worse. were they looking to tighten the hold on her leash once more while she was down, they were succeeding. months, and months, and months of various medical treatments in this tiny, four walled room. psi can only spiral further from here, grows increasingly more volatile as her health progressively returns.

she reaches point where inquisitor no longer seeks to have her as retainer. her unwillingness to touch pyromancy deters him, her degrading mental state bothers him. powerful as she was, psi had become useless to him. her seemingly psychotic state is a constant, gleefully chatters aloud with the warp and finds just about everything comically hysterical. she’s nearly killed multiple guards on her duty, and yet they can’t quite let her go. their abusive torment has hardly any effects at this point, has grown so used to their antics that she shows no sign of reformation from them. even after they screw a torturous device into her skull, it changes nothing of her behaviour. and yet, they never stop putting her in her place.

decision is made to put their hound to use elsewhere, throwing her alongside meat that doesn’t matter. if she slaughters, so be it. the mourningstar is in constant need of folks to fill it, bleeding men at a rapid rate as they try to halt the tertium chaos infestation. these are the conditions in which psi truly shines from their training; a horrid beast, more than willing to not only throw herself into combat, but fight through waves and waves of scabs to make sure they got out the other end.

treatment on the mourningstar, she finds, is the same for her as it’s always been. locked away until needed, shackled, depraved of basic pleasures that would allow her to feel much too human. any mishaps also net her the same punishments she’s always known. broken fingers, deprivation of senses, beatings and threats.

at least, psi appears to greatly enjoy the missions she’s given here. there’s nothing quite as joyful to her as running into a horde of nurgle worshipers and blowing them to pitiful bits. all the while, she's making what you could consider friends with fellow strike team members. this is a first for her, something she's never been allowed or able to do previously. doing things with them, going out alone on jobs that require only four people at a similar lowly status as herself. she's learning more about the world than she ever had before.

bad for oppressors to let her get a taste of something new, perhaps, but wildly exciting for her. it's the first time she's truly felt alive. minus all of the constant threats against their lives, of course. that just came with the job.

VERBAL TIC: likes to speak in a very sing - song manner at times, holding onto letters or words and fizzling them out with a held tune. also has a propensity for voice cracks, due to the fact she is so often raising her voice. is usually very loud, and exclaims very loudly and suddenly.

BREATHING PATTERN: a mouth breather that makes every breath sound loud and laboured. they aren't actually, though, unless she's been running around. then, she'll pant similarly to a dog.


NONVERBAL

BODY MOVEMENT: she gestures and moves around a lot when she speaks. bouncing around, clasping hands together, kicking her feet, spinning around, etcetera. anything like that, she's always moving and very expressive.

EXPRESSION: psi is almost always smiling. toothy and large, like an over excited panting dog.

EMOTIONAL STATE: volatile. she toes the very thin line between being in reality and being out of it. other than that, though, it's actually almost impossible to break her. she's very positive about everything.

BODY POSTURE: actually pretty good. she's often standing up straight, likely trying to get the most out of what height she does have. ouch.

WALKING STYLE: nothing out of the ordinary. she tries to walk fast to keep up with everyone around her, seeing how she is very short. sometimes she'll have a skip in her step, just for fun.

SITTING STYLE: cannot sit normal at all. ever. she do be autistic wit it. she prefers to goblin squat like a gargoyle, or hug her knees up to her chest.

SLEEPING STYLE: she has two main positions, chosen at random. psi will either sleep in the fetal position, curling up and making herself as small as possible, or sleep on her stomach in the most splayed starfish manner she can.


PSYCHIC ABILITIES

BIOMANCY DISCIPLINE: specialisation in manipulating biological energy and processes with the power of their minds. mastering of the flesh, a matter of learning to shape and influence one's physical forms, their allies or their enemies, according to their will.

  • with an intense amount of focus and a period of uninterrupted time, psi is able to rupture the organs of her opponent into a hail of haemorrhages with her mind, bleeding them out and killing them in an extremely painful way. if she is interfered with while trying to do this, it won't work.
  • she can push herself to supernatural levels. it's more of a passive ability, capable of forcing herself to shrug off wounds and fatigue for a period of time to pump herself with more adrenaline so she may carry on her fight. this has nothing to do with healing, and she is still taking damage.
  • has the ability to spark bio-lightning from her finger tips, creating bolts of electricity to stun her opponents and allow someone else on her team to go in for the kill. not very strong on its own, but great for crowd control during runs.
  • capable of healing small, generally insignificant wounds by resting her hands upon them and letting some minutes to pass. this tires her almost immediately, and she tends to only do this after a mission is over, when she wishes to aid her allies. anything life threatening, or even a gunshot wound, is beyond her healing capabilities. she's built for war, not mending.

DIVINATION DISCIPLINE: discerning the hidden past of the galaxy and know the course of events yet to come. these abilities allow diviners to look into the twisting strands of the immaterium in search of the answers they seek, and sometimes even influence the outcome of fate itself.

  • her divination abilities are strong, basically how she gets around and is continually useful in combat without being able to see.
  • she is gifted foreknowledge from the warp about weapon movements and bullet paths, making her quite the nagging opponent to face one on one.
  • favourite beloved voice from the warp is able to guide her around areas and alert her to both obstacles and enemies. he is also keen on offering her knowledge she should not be privy to, such as goings on within terra society or information that someone outside the high ranks of council lords and space marine militants shouldn't know. most think she's talking crazy out her ass.

PYROMANCY DISCIPLINE: a mastering of fire and flame, when a psyker who is able to create searing infernos out of thin air. pyromancy is one of the most spectacular and destructive forms of psychic ability, and those who face a pyromancer in combat are oft reduced to nought but a pile of charred bones.

  • psi is a grossly powerful pyromancer. she, however, refuses to use these abilities since being burned.
  • she's capable of wielding warpfire in her palms like a flamer, and burning alive however many she pleases. she's able to force spontaneous combustion upon someone specific by focusing her mind, torching them to ash. her various pyro abilities take out armour with ease, melting it and attached flesh like it was nothing. she's able to basically use it like a shield, bursted aflame and making her untouchable for a period.
  • the only way she'd ever be willing to use these abilities again is in a genuinely life threatening situation for someone she cares about. she would absolutely do everything she possibly could first, and if her other powers aren't doing the trick while they're on death's door, she'd force it upon herself. it'd likely cause some type of mental break.

TELEKINESIS DISCIPLINE: having the ability to manipulate the material world with the power of one's minds, translating sheer mental power into physical force. these psykers can lash their foes with psychic energy, erect invisible force shields to protect themselves and even rend apart the fabric of reality.

  • due to the fact you generally need to be aware of your environment to use telekinetic abilities, anything involving earthly materials or the objects around her is not a viable tactic to psi.
  • she can, however, channel psychic energy outward into the world. she's capable of bursting heads with a clench of her fist, or choking an opponent in the same manner.
  • she's able to knock enemies away or into a stagger with a shockwave push of energy from her hands. can have a decent range in front of her, though it won't actually hurt you. it's more a tool to get a hoard off her.

TELEPATHY DISCIPLINE: telepaths are psykers whose mental expertise lies with contacting and controlling the minds of others. with a single thought, a telepath can blast away his foe's sanity, induce states of numbing terror or possess his victim's thoughts and mould their actions as if they were his own.

  • more than capable of reading minds, and does so as if it's your average behaviour. she can also probe into your memories if she so wishes to. in turn, beloved voice from the warp will generally halt other psykers from attempting to do the same to her.
  • she's capable of projecting both negative or positive thoughts into someone. she can only do this with one person at a time, and it takes a lot of focus from her, and easily interrupted. depending on the situation; she can project horrific imagery or thoughts of dread into an enemy, or she can aid an ally by projecting visions of victory into their head.
  • something she can do but likely shouldn't is cause a mass hallucination. it's an ability that has a projection width, affecting folks in a circle, including herself and allies if within it. this will cause psi herself to spiral severly out of reality and lose sight of what is actually real and what isn't, prolonging its effects until someone pulls her out of it. she will only do this if ordered to by someone.

SKILLS

psi is highly trained in melee combat due to sparring with her inquisitor. she has no fear about rushing into combat first, and unlike most psykers, doesn't like staying on the sidelines. she's best with axes and chainswords, but she could make anything work at a moments notice.

quite skilled in dodging. with the help of her beloved, of course. he relays to her enemy movements, and she's able to respond accordingly. while she isn't the best at returning combat in a situation like this, she'd probably be able to keep avoiding slashes until someone is.


WEAPONS OF CHOICE

she's a user of force staffs. to be more specific, she prefers using a voidstrike, gets very excited by the loud booms it can make upon impact. force staffs have intricate psi-convectors within them, allowing a psyker to harnesses the pure energy of the warp and unleash it upon their enemies in ferocious psychic cavalcades.

melee wise, she will always go for a chainsword. she totes a mk iv assault variant herself, utterly obsessed with running at her enemies while the motor is revving wildly. it allows her to cut through them like butter, much to her amusement. it also creates quite a mess!

TRIVIA

her missing fingers were caused by multiple sources. one was cut off when she was younger during the era of mauger trying to break her, while the remaining two were badly damaged when she was burned. they were amputated by the medical personnel caring for her.

she doesn't actually know any music or songs. she was extremely witheld and cut off from the outside world and any pleasures from it by the inquisition, leaving her very oblivious to something as simple as that. she's constantly pestering zealots and veterans to teach her lyrics and hymns.

she is banned from having weapons or sharp objects such as pencils and most eating utensils on the mourningstar. this is why she eats everything with a spoon, which usually looks very silly.

if you misgender her knowingly she just blows your head up. she gives everyone a chance and will giggle about correcting you, but anything after that requires ye ol' brain burst.

the headgear she wears is actually screwed into her skull, making it unremovable. it could probably be taken off if you had the hardware, but not without extremely grievous wounds.


HOBBIES

psi doesn't really have hobbies. does causing mass bloodshed count. this is another thing the inquisition doesn't allow her the chance to experience, for it would allow her too much of a human identity. they try to keep her as shut out from wanting pleasures as possible.


TVTROPES

CLOUDCUCKOOLANDER: a character with their head in the clouds. they are very cheerful and strangely oblivious to things that everyone else takes for granted. they may have an argument with themselves for fun, make points in an argument with no basis in logic or reality, or tell rambling stories that have nothing to do with the point they're trying to make.

  • perfect psi explanation. she often comes across very nonchallant or oblivious about the situation she and fellow rejects find themselves in, always enjoying herself and straddling the fine line between dreamlike psychotic state versus toeing into reality.

TALKATIVE LOON: a character who speaks if not constantly then often so quickly that it's hard to make out individual words and with the appearance of not having to stop for breath. can be incoherent statements, confusing sentences, or stories that mean absolutely nothing. often invent their own words or use the existing ones in strange ways, and employ peculiar syntax and grammar.

  • psicore. it's extremely hard to get her to shut up. she enjoys talking now that she's allowed to do it, and can often spiral into sprawling tales and gibberish that mean .. nothing. seemingly, anyway. she just likes talking, and does so a lot.

HEARING VOICES / TALKING TO THEMSELF: when a character starts hearing voices whispering to them. sometimes the various voices will talk to their host, sometimes one of them will be more dominant over the others. sometimes the character will conversate with them outloud, leaving surrounding parties lost.

  • she can hear voices from the warp, cries of the dead, and mournful agony from things such as daemonhosts - and will openly converse with them aloud. she does have a favourite that she speaks with the most above any other, her beloved, who she has a genuine caring relationship with. not being able to hear what goes on inside her head makes it sound as if she's speaking to no one in particular, though she often mentions something her beloved said so others may be privy.

SARCASM - BLIND: a common trait among characters who have no social skills due to an offbeat background, and those who are just that comically serious, or are just too young. these characters do not understand sarcasm. a lot of times, that can be (especially) annoying to the sarcastic ones in question.

  • she was never given the proper social interaction as she grew up to comprehend sarcasm. psi is extremely literal minded, in that she will take whatever sarcastic remark you are trying to say or make completely serious, or it will simply go entirely over her head.

she has crooked fingers.

pleaaaase don't skimp out on her burn scars. they are extremely severe and head to toe. if you can't draw them, don't take my comm.

she is missing all ear and nose cartilage. they're basically just holes on her face, though headgear majorly covers what remains of her ears.

there is a flap of skin that connects between her bottom lip and top lip. there is also another one that connects between her jaw and neck.

she is completely flat chested and has wider shoulders.

ATTITUDE

TOWARDS STRANGER: friendly towards them by default. even if they're showing no interest in doing the same, she will attempt to befriend you in her very psi ways with her very psi mannerisms.

TOWARDS ACQUAINTANCE: extremely similar to how she acts with friends. the only difference here is she likely wouldn't directly throw herself into harms way for you, but she will fight to keep you alive.

TOWARDS FRIENDS: she behaves a lot like your annoying younger sibling. she will pester you with questions, never know when to stop talking, and play pranks on you. despite this, she is extremely loyal, and will throw herself into harms way just to protect someone she considers a friend.

TOWARDS FAMILY: while she didn't truly get to experience them, the one man she does view as a father figure despite everything he's done to her is treated with the utmost respect and loyalty. she always wants to do everything she can to make the inquisitor proud of her.

TOWARDS LOVERS: psi is very clingy and lovey dovey. she behaves a lot like a cat and loves to lay on you and rub her face all over yours.

TOWARDS RIVAL: she LOVES the concept of having a rival. it's all in good fun to her. she loves a challenge, and loves to laugh hysterically and butt heads. while you may be genuinely pissed, psi has no true anger towards you.

TOWARDS ENEMY: she will just kill them. she has psychic powers and the ability to burst skulls with them. there's no chance that if you're psi's enemy that you are going to survive.

ZOE girlfriend, squad member

GIRLFRIEND. smile. psi is always calling her sweet brute. they were originally put on a team together due to the fact both their previous squad mates had died where they did not. bonded due to being considered abhumans amongst their fellow rejects, watch one another's back and keep each other company. neither have ever truly been in a relationship, but it's clear they love one another. they're actually quite annoying about it, to the chagrin of their teammates. they have to endure psi harping about how perfect zoe is.

INQUISITOR MAUGER handler, awful father figure

the inquisitor who ultimately shaped her into who she is today. while an abusive, manipulative person who exploited psi to use as an inquisition hound, she views him fondly. he's someone she desperately wishes to impress, longs for his approval like nothing else. to her, he's a father, in a heinously twisted sense of the word. it's painfully clear he does not view her in a similar light, sees psi as a tool to be used and nothing more. there is seemingly nothing mauger could do to her or anyone else that would shift psi's shining opinion of him.

BANKS squad member

basically functions as her babysitter half the time. banks is a catachan jungle fighting vet who also finds himself upon the mourningstar, placed upon a team with psi. he's someone who, despite the grump he totes on his face, won't break so easily to pestering. it's why they continually have him keep an eye on the psyker, who he finds deeply annoying. they work together well despite his opinions, and while he claims her bothersome, it's clear he values her in some way. he'll defend her in arguments, and genuinely admires her skill.

another squad member alongside the others. this one, the usually bigoted zealot. her hatred for psi is unwavering, going out of her way to say nasty things and cause the two to butt heads. to psi, this is all in good fun! she views them as rivals, though it's obvious agmus has a true and tried dislike for the witch. given the immediate chance, she'd probably kill her. she's tried at least once, the pair jousting it out, yet it never ends up going her way. she finds psi and her pension for laughter .. annoying.
