VISAGE & ABILITY

∞ A dark, almost blue coat, with short, soft fur on the flank, head, and legs. Longer fur can be found on the neck and belly. Thin off-white stripes run down the back, with a creamy underbelly to match. Black markings outline the change in tone, and form something akin to "tear marks" on their face. Legs fade to a darker tone the further down you go.

∞ Seemingly insatiable and will eat to the point of bloating, although due to the limits of their digestive system, they must purge high alkaline foods and lactose. Eats ravenously as a habit--used to food being few and far inbetween. Innards vary from a normal cervid's, with a small cecum and intestine, as well as a mono-gastric stomach. Saliva contains enzymes to help break down food. Bright, viscerally red blood.

∞ Despite their young age, they have a full set of sharp teeth. Unable to completely shut their mouth due to this, with many of the teeth inflaming and digging into gums. Riddled with constant and debilitating toothaches, as well as bloody gums. Teeth most resemble that of a spotted hyena. 

∞ Neglect is obvious from further inspection. Ribs are clearly poking out, with lacerations and scabs all over their feet. A film of fluid leaks from their eyes and nose. They're covered in recovering bites and lesions from the parasites that were previously injuring them, the skin on their elbows, belly, and ears abnormally thick--a remnant of mange.

TEMPERAMENT

∞ Although a lack of consistent contact has made them quite skittish, they lack a sense of potential danger--anything that hasn't displayed aggression is assumed to not be aggressive.

∞ Generally enjoys physical contact, if a bit hesitant at first. Will snap and protest if mouth is inspected or prodded at, both due to pain and past conditioning. Loves scratchy petting. Sudden movements or loud noises will cause a flinch and a growl.

∞ Seemingly incapable of speech. Makes expressive faces and sounds, and is half-decent at understanding others. Picks up on the emotions behind the words better than the words themselves, making monotonous speakers hard to understand. Surprisingly self-reliant.

∞ Memory becomes more jumbled and fractured over time. May forget caregivers, dangers, and those in-between if not reminded of their presence often. Has a hard time recounting events in their head.
