About

Personality Traits

A kind but firm teammate, Dalkatos has been hardened by battle into a fierce warrior yet still holds a heart of gold. He is impatient when it comes to messing around, but knows that people need time to relax during such harsh conditions.

While he is willing to work with many people to achieve his goals, only very few get close to him. Not outwardly distrustful, but can be sceptical towards those he doesn't know well.

Ideals

Holds relationships in very high regard. While he doesn't believe in blood being thicker than water, his family are his world. If he were to make a friend that close, he'd care about them just as much.

Bonds

His older sibling is his closest bond. He feels that he needs to protect them with his life, since his heavier dragonborn resemblance makes him more naturally durable.

Flaws

Despite being an incredibly dangerous combatant, his kind heart can be turned against him. He might refuse to kill or, on rare occasions, even fight an enemy he deems undeserving. This can be undone, however, if they become "deserving" again.

Closed-off and hard to get close to.

Backstory

Dalkatos was born to two loving fathers- Aerberos Teylphiriscint, a moon elf, and Cirrith Callisto, a green dragonborn- as well as with an older sibling, Far. The family were rather poor at the time, though never without food and shelter. Still, Dalkatos often found himself picking up odd jobs around the little villiage they lived in to earn what little money he could in hopes of helping his family. Sure, people looked at him funny for being a dragonborn crossed with an elf, but nobody really had the heart to be mean to a kid who'd earned the name "Snuggler" for being so good at hugs. His sibling often wasn't as lucky, but hey: when all else failed, he was strong enough to punch through wooden walls.

Upon growing older, Dalkatos found that his propensity for physical work made him a very good contender for an adventurer for hire. He'd seen travellers of the sort wandering through his small town (some far kinder than others) and they always seemed rather well-off, so he picked up a sword and set off. The work was gruelling and the companions he was assigned to weren't always great company, but he made more than enough to support his family. He couldn't complain. He even met the love of his life through his work; Fenmaris Deymiloth, a noble elf and wizard prodigy. Though one of the most skilled magicians the world had seen in quite some time, Fenmaris was very sheltered. Dal was happy to help teach his adventuring partner the ropes. Everyone had to start somewhere, after all.

For years, the two were a couple worthy of legend, inseperable and powerful enough to seem unkillable. Key word: seem. One fateful day, the pair were hired for a gladiatorial-style battle. The event was shady and the organisers sketchy, but the other fighters were inexperienced and the pay was high. The two were set to win, of course, until an opponent shot a flaming arrow hurtling for Dalkatos' stomach. Fenmaris panicked and leapt in to save his fiancé, but he was far shorter than the dragonborn. It hit him directly in the centre of his chest. He bled out in the arms of his beloved, the whole time begging for the fighter not to cry and to carry on life without him.

Dalkatos changed after that. He returned home a broken man, having won the battle but lost his love. He hung up his sword and didn't leave his bed for a month. He closed himself off entirely to all but his family in hopes of never being hurt so badly again.

His sibling eventually came knocking at his door, brandishing an advertisement for a mysterious campaign calling for seasoned adventurers. Dalkatos pretended not to hear until Far announced that they would go alone if not with him. Suddenly, he was up and about, polishing off his armour and packing them both bags for the road. To make a rather long story short, the two got the job, along with three other party members, and came out the other side with enoughg old to feed their family for all of their incredibly long elven lifetimes and, strangely enough, a pet raccoon named Elias Bouchard the Third. Dal gave Elias a little hat and everything.

The most notable part of their journey, though, would be the side quest they went on after finding a necromancer who could bring back anyone given the right materials. Though ennervating (and occasionally traumatic), Dalkatos finally managed to gather everything required to bring back his fiancé. Their reunion was sweet enough to give everyone within a ten mile radius severe tooth decay, and they've never been seperated since. The couple, now husbands, travel with Far across various planes searching for less lethal adventures to go on. There are rumours going around that said adventures may even be interdimensional... but who knows, really? Nobody can confirm anything.

A behemoth of a man with both elven and draconic features wrapped into one incredibly intimidating package. It's not uncommon for him to be mistaken for a tiefling with draconic ancestry upon first seeing him, especially given that he has a tail. This myth is quickly disspelled, however, when he begins to spit poison.
