DESIGN
- Tictac doesn't think much about their looks and cuts their own hair, so they tend to look disheveled and not very put together.
- They are almost always smiling and does not cry easy. Largely because they struggle to take in information that would otherwise make them cry easy.
- While they normally dress very outdoorsy, they do like fashion from the 80s and will mess around with it in a gender-neutral way.
- Incredibly dynamic, rarely "stands still" for any reason.
TRIVIA
- Tictac can't remember where they got their name from, but they know it started as a nickname. Its what they exclusively went by since arriving in Pelican Town, even before coming out, and Neil is the only one in town who may know their deadname.
- Their birthday is the same day as Black Friday, an awful dust storm that happened across the midwest United States in 1935.
- Tictac is actually not from the same side of Neil's family as his grandpa, and had never been to the farm before moving in as a farmhand. It wasn't even their choice.
PERSONALITY
An excited ball of energy, Tictac can sometimes act as a detriment to themself. In their eyes, they can befriend anybody. This is largely because their definition of friendship can include people who actually don't like them at all. They are the exact kind of person a high school bully would justify making fun of because they were too weird to not, and was likely homeschooled for that reason. The hardest problem they had with talking to people is that they have no idea what they could be doing wrong.
Tictac gets annoyed with anybody who wants to completely remove history at its roots, moreso when there are other options, and is especially irrtated with Joja as a corperation. They feel the company has no respect for history and that they'd rather forget about the entire past for a quick buck rather than consider what it means to the people of the area. Finding out about the store in the valley gave them an enemy within the first week. They will eat a joja can if you give it to them.
While aware that they're seen as kind of childish by other people, they don't mind it until it starts to affect their agency, so they get along well with villages who may openly look down on them. However, they will not accept that kind of treatment for Neil. So basically, you could treat them like dirt so long as you stay out of their business, but if you try that for Neil they will bite you. On the plus side, that doesn't really happen in the valley.

PAST
Though they wouldn't admit it, Tictac thinks they could be a little bit of a burden on their parents sometimes. Being as high energy and socially unaware as they were growing up, it led to a lot of problems with other kids their age and situations where adults in authority wouldn't help them, thinking there was no way to get through to them. Growing up in a city and being one of the only ones on their block who was homeschooled (as far as they were aware) made them feel very isolated, even when playing with other kids their age and doing activities.
They loved viisting family because it meant they'd have people to talk to, things to do, and a break from the overlap of work and life their homeschooling brought them. Tic-Tac and Neil barely knew each other growing up, seeing each other infrequently, but they always thought he was pretty cool from a distance.
PRESENT
Living with their distant cousin in the middle of nowhere, especially when it was neither of their ideas in the first place, was initially very disoirenting for both of them. Tic thinks they've figured out how to make it work for both of them, and loves the environment they've made for themsevles. Tic is incredibly social and wants to make as many friends as possible in the valley, though their high energy kind of concerns some of them.
Unlike their cousin and neighbors, Tictac doesn't have a draw to anything supernatural in the valley, both in nature and in the their. However, that doesn't stop her enthusiasm about the Junimos, and her frequent attempts to befriend them in spite of them not wanting anything to do with her. They're helping Neil with the community center largely because of this enthusiasm, but also because they values older things and would hate to see it go.

Cousins - Tictac acts as Neil's farmhand and is having a great time. She doesn't really understand his boundaries, but is slowly learning as time goes on and tries her best to be the most efficient farmhand possible. She is envious of his ability to see the Junimos, but thinks he's the coolest thing since sliced bread for it.
Romantic Interest - Tictac has been trying to woo her since day one but keeps getting distarcted by the mines. She hasn't really seen the softer sides to Haley yet, but that has not changed her interest... Nor will it.
Neighbor - Tictac sees Beetle as a mining buddy! Even though they have different priorities in the mines, Tictac highly values her company and loves her enjoyment off the mines. In other words, she has both killed and died (monsters in the mines) for Beetle.
Neil's Fiance - He's a nice guy, but he's also the town doctor and Tictac has been avoiding her check-ups because she doesn't like seeing the doctor laregly because of her removed autonomy growing up. Unless there's a bone poking out of her, she's going to continue refusing to see him.
