Personality:

Bal is a loud muscle-head of a motor vehicle mechanic who doesn't put up with nonsense, but isn't hard to get along with at all if you give him his space when needed. Loves talking about anything motor vehicles, and isn't opposed to learning something new about them. While typically Ballast is companionable to everyone, almost big brother like once you get closer to him, he can get quite tempermental if greatly pissed off, though in such cases is usually is able to control it enough to take out on inanimate objects instead of someone else. Mess with someone he cares for however, and he may not bother doing so. Thankfully he's so far not had to result to actual violence.




Currently, Bal is working at a local garage in Orita, but is hoping to build up enough money to open his own.

Wardrobe:

Bal typically dresses for the job, while also as light as he can. This usually means a tank top and jeans, with boots, gloves, goggles and other similar protective wear to work in, as well as a hand towel or two in a pocket or around his neck. If able he will also go shirtless. Usually also tends to have oil/grease/dirt on him while working. Casual clothing tends to be simple as well, 

Physical Description:

With a very muscular body from working out (and his job), most of Ballast's back is white,  a sunflower yellow/orange stripe curving and contouring along his sides and down the back of his legs, to end of his toes on his front legs (back legs have the covered toes as well, but the strip stops mid heel). Over all of that are violet 3 V-like stripe markings on his neck, as well as the tops of his ears, legs and end of his tail. Above his eyebrows are violet spots. Eyes, blood and inner flesh are all violet as well. Hair is violet colored and short: almost buzzed on sides, little longer on top (few inches in length). Face in true form is square, with a strong jawline, usually with stubble, but he will sometimes let it grow a bit to a chin strap or short boxed beard.

B I O G R A P H Y

Early Life:

Ballast had a normal upbringing in Orita, and found he had an interest in vehicles relatively early thanks to having the toys. It quickly grew into a hobby and interest as he got older, upgrading to building and collecting models and parts, and reading about them in various books and magazines. Sometimes he would get in trouble for taking apart things with motors and wheels, like mowers or toy remote controlled cars, to see how they worked, with every intention of putting it back together, only to realize he didn't always know how. This prompted his parents to suggest extra, specified classes in mechanics, with hands on training in local garages when he was old enough. After graduating, Bal had grown so fond of the experience and workers, he was able to secure a job at one of the businesses.

Current Life:

To most, Bal's life may seem pretty basic and routine, but he loves it. He still works at the same garage he graduated from in Orita, and is a hard-working employee and friend to everyone there. Has his own apartment near the garage that he could walk or fly to, but prefers to drive his "project" car. He's currently working on it, giving it upgraded parts and look in his free time. Bal enjoys staying busy with vehicle work so he doesn't feel bored, which tends to annoy him. Also still collects and builds models on the occasion, but of course now at a higher level. "They are not toys!"

Goals and Aspirations:

Other than saving up to one day open and run his very own garage, Bal is perfectly content to keep living day to day, as they come, doing what he enjoys with the people he knows and loves.

Being someone who likes to banter and tease as one way to show affection, any potential partner would have to be able to keep up with Bal and this tendency or, even better, go along with it with just as much gusto.

• Prime - Mate
  An AIRO bodyguard stationed in Orita who also likes cars. Not only can Prime keep up with Baa's big personality, he can match it. They enjoy bantering back and forth, at times seeming so angry they're ready to start physically fighting. However, its usually is all in good fun, and they can laugh about it later. Bal helps Prime with his car part collecting and building, since he's new to it.

  Despite his usual outward demeanor, Bal is very much a family guy, enjoying company and being protective. Very big brother-like.

He can put his pride aside and ask for help if absolutely needed... After struggling with it due to his stubbornness and pride for a while of course. Bal is friendly despite knowing he can look intimidating, and knows how to adjust his tone of voice, as well as his energy and body language to appear more approachable. He will still get more excited around other enthusiasts, eager to chat.

• Xenotransplantation - Coworker/friend. Xeno being a Kovenite didn't bother Bas much at all. If anything he thought having a Kov coworker was interesting and cool. They talked often about various mechanical topics while working, and helped each other when needed on jobs. When Xeno suddenly got arrested, it confused and angered Bas, as by then they had become friends, and he attempted to try and find out why with little to no luck as it was government related so they wouldn't tell a civilian anything. When the garage started a fund to help Xeno get free, Bas was quick to chip in a good chunk. He also attempted to send the Kov little gifts, but had no idea if they ever got to him.

Adversarial Connections: Open / Tentative

  Being a no nonsense guy, as well as stubborn, Bal isn't one to stand down from a challenge or just ignore shit talk. He can control himself to a degree, able to take out any anger on inanimate objects such as a punching bag, but bring up his family or mate and all bets may be off.

However, in purely friendly competition settings, he can easily tease, but also offer advise if asked for.
