L o a d i n g . . .
A fairly quiet, polite individual who tends to keep to himself and his projects. Though that doesn't mean he isn't happy to chat should someone ask what he's working on, or otherwise start up a conversation! He's mostly just awkward, never knowning how to begin a conversation himself. He tends to wait for people to approach him first because of this, as he worries he'll mess up a first impression, not realizing he makes one by being distant as well.
Trivia
- While his name is Jasper, most people call him some variation of Zi given his Designation, Z-1. He doesn't mind, though he does miss having only one name sometimes
- Can float on command, and often prefers to do so instead of walking. He claims it saves energy. He can also travel through electronics, so long as they have a screen
- Has a cat named Hummer that he brings everywhere with him. She's a self-care app he patched up and rescued from Cyberspace
- Claims he spent years locked in Cyberspace, though to the rest of the world he was really only gone for a few weeks
- Could be described as a hopeless romantic, though he's oblivious as all get-out. It makes things difficult sometimes

demeanor
Z-1 does his best to present himself as a friendly individual, despite his anxieties about interacting with others. Whenever he's working in a public area, he does his best to wave and offer a smile to anyone who enters his workspace, even putting his projects aside should they start up a conversation with him. This, more often than not, ends up getting him stuck in conversations that he doesn't quite know how to get out of, as he feels it would be rude to simply state he has to get back to work.
As may be obvious, Weather Boy here tends to put others above himself. It's a horrible habit, and he's well aware of it, but regardless of his best efforts he can't quite seem to shake those people-pleasing tendencies. Not completely, anyway. He's gotten better from when he first re-emerged from cyberspace, as he behaved more like a program carrying out a task than a person, but it seems he's still having trouble fully being himself again. This has also translated into him being a Closed and Locked journal, and the key has been misplaced. Help Him.
Because of this learning curve, friendship and affection for the programmer is.. Confusing. He recognizes that it's something he'd like to give and receive, but generally doesn't know how to achieve either option. As such, he instead just attempts to be there for others he cares for as much as he can. This can be just about anything. Watching movies, listening to rants, playing games, drawing, working, or just sitting and doing nothing together. Another option he's discovered is making embroidered patches for people. He'll sit and listen to their interests or hobbies, and make something in relation to it. Though sometimes he doesn't actually know how to... Give the patch to them, and ends up holding onto it instead. His hesitancy regarding gift-giving is something he despises, as he just wants to let his friends know that he is in fact listening when they talk. Even if it may not seem like it.

Facial features
His right eye is a deep red colour, while his left is instead a dark blue. He has some light freckles on his nose and across his cheeks which only really show up in close up photos. Does his best to keep a smile when out and about.
Tattoos
He only has two tattoos, one on the back of his neck, a computer chip, and one on his right wrist, a celtic trinity knot.
Jewelry
Z-1 has both of his ears pierced on the lobe, and often wears one more 'dangly' earring paired with a stud on the other side. 50/50 whether the dangly earring also has a cuff that hooks on the cartilage. Aside from the piercings, he has 2 rings and a charm bracelet that he wears at ALL times
Wardrobe
His wardrobe is a tad curious. Instead of having several different tops, it seems as though the hoodie he's most commonly seen in can instead shift into different outfits to match the style of whatever event he'll be heading to. This seems to be why they all have the same colours, rather than him finding things with the Exact Same Fabric all the time.
Design notes
- Though his outfit shifts to be suitable, he can wear other clothes. His hoodie will simply shift to be a tank top
- When focused, he looks.. Pissed. Pretty extreme RBF, but only when working
- Has optional glasses! He doesn't exactly need them anymore, but he still wears them sometimes. Makes him feel smart
- The particles seen around him don't need to always be drawn, they tend to just be there after emerging from a device or when he's floating
Story
Story
Old life
Once just a simple programmer and nothing more, Jasper worked almost tirelessly at a computer lab with several others. All with the same goal in mind: to bridge the gap between reality and the cyber world. The hope here was to allow for travel through electronics, allowing people to hop to and fro as they pleased.
There were many programmers working on the theory, and one in particular assigned to Jasper's case ended up becoming quite close to him. They worked together tirelessly on the project, bouncing ideas off of each other even when out of the office. He thought she'd stick with him to the end.
Cyberspace
Unfortunately, that turned out to not be the case. One day, while Jasper was laying groundwork from within Cyberspace, he noticed that his comms had been quiet for a concerning amount of time. Calling out to her, he was met only with more silence. Panic set in, and although he made a mad dash for the portal, he was too late. It closed on him, trapping him within the confines of the computer.
While adjusting to being a 'program' was hard enough on its own, what made it harder was the rest of the team carrying on as though nothing was wrong. Not only because it stung, but also because the work they were doing was taking away resources he needed to continue living. Resources that the other programs and processes needed, too.
Because of this, he decided to begin working against his old teammates in an effort to preserve the natural state of Cyberspace, and thus earned the moniker "ctrl+z", as many of the programmers would remark that the 'virus' that had made its way into their systems was like someone was holding down those keys.
Current Day
Nowadays, Jasper spends most of his time working in cafes or libraries since being fired from the lab for "refusal to show." Having been the one to make the most progress on the project, however, and be the most involved in it, he knows where all the weak points are. And the team is thouroughly confused as to why things continue to disappear to this day.
Aside from his little secret mission, he's also been doing his best to make some new friends. There's one cafe in particular that he spends more time at than others, mostly because the people there are kind in their own ways, and don't give him strange looks for his odd coloured eye or question his clothes too often. He likes it there, it feels more comfortable than the rest.
